Gentlemen, I've got news. Fashion at The Races is not just for the ladies; you are invited to enter the competition this year. What but to wear?

Nothing looks better on a man than a well fitted suit, and the best thing is they come in all kinds of colours, patterns, shapes and cuts. Who said women had more fun dressing up?

The guys at M.J. Bale are your go-to to have your suit sorted. A no-fail look is a Navy suit paired with a crisp white shirt, a burgundy tie (and a tie clip never goes astray), pocket square is a must, and if you really want to dress to impress, a lapel pin to finish it off. Mens Style 2

If navy isn’t your thing, maybe a check blazer with a sand-colour chino. With Spring/Summer coming up wearing lighter colours will suit the season. In Winter, I suggest a black shirt. European style loafers are a great shoe of choice, and are sure give you that competitive edge.

I have always looked to Europe for my fashion inspiration. It’s my culture, and they are number one in fashion in the world. I am seeing trend forecasts that Men are loving separates, so a different colour Blazer to pants. It’s time to jump on the trend bandwagon men! See my Pinterest board for inspiration.

Pairing accessories with your suit, blazer or chinos are key. It shows that you have taken time and thought about your total outfit. Gents, ladies love a well-dressed man, and love a man who can add his own style to his complete outfit. Don’t forget some sunglasses, I know it’s simple but it will give you that all over cool-ness and of course, keep you sun smart.

Since the ladies get to stand out with their fascinator you need to make bold statements with your clothing and accessories. Don’t be afraid to mix a pattern shirt with a patterned blazer, you will need to stand out from the crowd for the Fashion at The Races. I’ll be impressed if I see some boys with a boater hat or two!

If ties aren’t your thing, try a bow tie it’s quirky and on trend. This will give your total outfit another element. Another great accessory to think about is cuff links from ‘Buckle’, there are so many different styles to pick from. Check them out here! My style tip is to remember that cufflinks need a certain style of shirt so when shopping, remember to ask!

Finally, remember to stick to your personal style when getting Race Day ready, and most importantly, don’t forget to have a great day with mates!
