Peter and Belinda Blanch have their sights on the South Australian Autumn Racing Carnival with promising three-year-old Validated who was the Racing Rewards SA highest earner in December.
Validated followed two luckless runs at Morphettville winning his maiden at Murray Bridge and collecting $25,450 in bonuses to go with $62,930 in prizemoney he’s banked owners in just three starts.
“It was a nice reward for connections and the breeders who retained a share in the horse - to get the bonus and go to the paddock with some money in the bank,’’ Peter Blanch said.
“And to grab the Racing Rewards bonus was even better.
“He’s done a good job, we will give him a break and have him ready to roll for the carnival here in Adelaide.
“Where he lands we’re not really sure but the plan is to have him ready around the Redelva and whether he stays at those 1200m races or finds himself getting out to a mile, we’re not really sure, we just know he’s a nice horse,’’ he said.
Validated continued the impressive season for local sire Valentia who was the leading sire for the month of December, while Cornerstone Stud’s newest addition from across the road at Goldin Farms - Akeed Mofeed - continues to do good things as the leading Racing Rewards SA sire for season 2022-23.
Richard and Chantelle Jolly were the Highest Earning Trainer and Nominator for the month and start the new year having trained 37 winners across South Australia, 26 coming at metropolitan level and well on track to eclipse their numbers from last season.
Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle’s Zufasta is the Highest Earning Horse for the 2022-23 season having landed $47,700 in bonuses.
