Rehomers play an essential role in supporting thoroughbreds that are have retired from the racing industry and are transitioning into their next stage of life whether it be as a competition horse, pleasure horse, or family pet.

With a proven ability to responsibly rehome horses, Acknowledged Rehomers can assist prospective buyers in finding a horse suitable for their experience level and intended use.

Acknowledged Rehomers operate separately to Thorough Care SA, however have gained their ‘TCSA Acknowledged Rehomer’ status based on being held in high regard within the industry, as well as for their skill, experience and track record in successfully retraining and rehoming thoroughbred horses.

  • Demonstrate the ability to care for, ride and train horses to a high standard.
  • Show sound judgement when placing a horse in a new home with a focus on the suitability of the new owner and their ability to support the horse, both in terms of knowledge and finance, i.e. a forever home.
  • Proactively communicate with Racing SA staff.
  • Demonstrate proactive and professional communication and social media presence.
  • Your full name, address and other contact details.
  • Complete the Online Application form below and provide the following:
  1. An overview of the facilities available to you to re train thoroughbreds.
  2. References from the following people:
  3. Someone to whom you have previously rehomed/sold a thoroughbred
  4. Your regular veterinarian
  5. Your regular farrier
