The Thorough Care SA Acknowledged Rehomer Program is an initiative to provide a high-quality first transition to a career beyond racing for thoroughbred horses that were bred for the racing industry.

Rehomers play an essential role in supporting thoroughbreds that are have retired from the racing industry and are transitioning into their next stage of life whether it be as a competition horse, pleasure horse, or family pet.

With a proven ability to responsibly rehome horses, Acknowledged Rehomers can assist prospective buyers in finding a horse suitable for their experience level and intended use.

Acknowledged Rehomers operate separately to Thorough Care SA, however, have gained their ‘TCSA Acknowledged Rehomer’ status based on being held in high regard within the industry, as well as for their skill, experience and track record in successfully retraining and rehoming thoroughbred horses.

Any arrangements made regarding the retirement of racehorses are between the relevant parties and Racing SA accepts no responsibility.
