The Irish win again

A fantastic day at Morphettville was had on Saturday September 1, which saw a great crowd witness a tight 2018 Australia vs Ireland Challenge Series.

The Irish Team of Donal McInerney, Adam Short and Shane Jackson secured Ireland’s 27th win in the Series.

The first race of the Series was the Dream Cruises Steeplechase over 3500m taken out by Australian Richard Cully aboard Sir Lopez with visiting Irishman Donal McInerney second on veteran jumper Urban Explorer. The points after this race were Australia – 15, Ireland 14.

The second and last race of the Series was the Dream Cruises Hurdle which saw an Irish Quinella with Shane Jackson aboard locally South Australian trained galloper Tunes (having his 118th start) winning by four lengths over countryman Donal McInerney aboard Victorian visitor Accounted Four, securing a 32 – 26 point win for the Irish over Australia. 

The win takes the overall series tally to Ireland 27, Australia 15 and one tie.
