Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: FALL ON A STAR (Race 1)

EACH-WAY: JUST A TRIBUTE (Race 3)

VALUE: I AM ENCHANTING (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 11:56AM Terry Howe Printing Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

Looks a perfect race for FALL ON A STAR, who comes to SA with some form around nice horses in handy races when with Kris Lees. She’s trialled nicely and looks the clear top pick. PERFECT ZED obviously has her share of ability. She was narrowly beaten at Warrnambool on debut before running an even-money favourite at his next two starts. She’s trialled nicely and looms as a danger. CASSANDRA ISABEL has been placed at all three starts and was scratched form Wednesday for this but is awkwardly drawn. MR TEE KAY was in the market on debut back in October when he chased home stablemate Tradewind and has trialled well. COVERED CALL is poorly drawn but has trialled up pretty well. TRANSFERENCE is another who has trialled OK.

SELECTIONS: FALL ON A STAR, Perfect Zed, Covered Call

RACE 2 - 12:31PM TAB Handicap (1000 METRES)

Above-average sprint race. STREETCAR STRANGER blew his chance at the start at Oakbank before making good ground behind Street Life, who ran well in the Irwin last weekend. There could be some solid speed here which would suit him down to the ground. TOO GOOD TOO HARD was placed in both the City Of Marion and Christmas Handicap before a break and her record is very good for a race like this. She was placed in a Group 3 race in the spring and draws a good gate with the aid of a claim. ELDERFLOWER was runner-up in the same race at Oakbank and her previous run was in the Manihi. SOUL OBSESSION is a last-start Morphettville winner, but that was back in January. She must be given plenty of thought, TRIP is a bold front-running mare who improved out of sight last campaign and was runner-up in the City of Marion behind One More Jack before a break. BRAY STREET BOSS has a good fresh record.

SELECTIONS: STREETCAR STRANGER, Too Good Too Hard, Elderflower

RACE 3 - 1:06PM Adelaide Racing Carnival - May 1st -15th Handicap (1300 METRES)

JUST A TRIBUTE was tried in the Gothic Stakes and Carbine Club Stakes in the spring before his first-up run when he got through the line well Pakenham. He should strip fitter and looks to have solid claims. MARITANA comes out what looms a handy form race running third behind Blinder and Pesto at Caulfield. He draws perfectly in barrier two and is helped with the claim. CALL ME CURTIS has been placed at 16 of his 20 starts here. He’s only won one of those, but he should be hitting the line hard. SKILLED BUNCH is unbeaten in two runs this track and trip, and she was OK last time at Oakbank. REMEMBER YOU was OK first-up and could be an improver.

SELECTIONS: JUST A TRIBUTE, Maritana, Call Me Curtis

RACE 4 - 1:41PM Cameron Davidson Painters and Decorators Handicap (1400 METRES)

MISTER YU SHU has been solid in betting his past three, the latest when $3.20 to $2.80, and was closing late in third spot at Sandown. He draws an inside gate and has Damian Lane. HE’S A BALTER should have won at Murray Bridge before he made good ground behind Lady Dunmore last time. He draws awkwardly but has each-way appeal. BORN TO PLAY is knocking on the door having finished runner-up at both runs this time in, the latest at Oakbank behind Going Gaga, and draws to get a gun run. PEARL BANDIT has been in great form over the past season and he was good first-up behind Magna Bella. His best form is at a mile, but there was a lot to like about is return. GALCRUM is racing well, while RUBBLE could be a blow-out.

SELECTIONS: MISTER YU SHU, He’s A Balter, Pearl Bandit

RACE 5 - 2:16PM Murray and Barb Stewart's 63rd Anniversary Memorial Handicap (1250 METRES)

JOHNNY CHUTZPAH had very good support in betting to win at Benalla first-up from a spell and looks perfectly drawn in barrier one to give this a shake. SPIN THE REWARD was a good winner at a price at Morphettville two starts back before a good effort behind River Twain. That shapes as a handy form race. OVER THERE is a Victorian who has been solid in the market at recent runs and she draws well with Damien Lane riding. DEBBONAIRE BOY is a former Victorian now with David Aldridge who was placed at Bendigo two runs back, while MAID IN MILAN is a winner here, has a nice fresh record and a good barrier.

SELECTIONS: JOHNNY CHUTZPAH, Spin The Reward, Over There

RACE 6 - 2:56PM H C Nitschke Stakes (1400 METRES

ANNAVISTO is a promising filly who has been dominant winning her past couple, firstly in the Bendigo Guineas, then repeating that effort at Caulfield. She’ll roll forward from gate six and take some running down. AGREEABLE looks the danger. She was well backed to win at Caulfield and her spring form was excellent. INCREDULOUS DREAM finished third behind her last time and was a Mornington winner at her previous outing. I liked the run of ANITRA at her first start for Will Clarken, making ground behind Brimarvi Vehero last week. She looks generous odds. THRILL KILL was very good behind River Twain last start and that shapes as a handy form race, though he his is poorly draw. HIGHLY DISCREET has been costly and she missed the start in the race won by River Twain. DAILY SPIRIT is going well and did a good job last time, while EXTRA TIME has raced in stronger company and should be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ANNAVISTO, Agreeable, Anitra

RACE 7 - 3:36PM Holdfast Insurance City Of Adelaide Handicap (1400 METRES)

Looks a race with some solid tempo. MORVADA will roll forward and is a quality horse, who makes his own luck. He comes out of some good races, winning at Group 3 level before being run down by Mr Quickie last time. He could have some pressure up front from TERRITORY TITAN, who was huge behind Ironclad In the Golden Mile at Bendigo last time. He drops back in distance to 1400m and they’ll know he’s there. GROUNDSWELL was placed in a Caulfield Guineas in his 3YO season and was back to his best when beating Defiant Dancer at Bendigo last time. He is drawn a sticky gate but is versatile and will appreciate any sort of speed war up front. MAMZELLE TESS is a handy mare who comes out of some strong races and was only beaten 2.7 lengths behind Probabeel at Caulfield in February. Likewise REGALO DI GAETANO comes out of the All-Star Mile. He has a great record at Morphettville, will appreciate getting back on dry track and is another who would love to see a strong speed. SKY PUNCH has won five races, all over 1400m, and he has a very good fresh record. I liked the return of DAZZLING DAMSEL last week behind Deep Dive but this is a much harder task. MAGNA BELLA was good winning first-up back in class, while RENEGADE has a good record this track and trip.

SELECTIONS: GROUNDSWELL, Morvada, Mamzelle Tess

RACE 8 - 4:15PM Breeders' Stakes (To be run on the Morphettville Main Track) (1200 METRES)

I AM ENCHANTING has a good form line for a race like this. She has been a touch awkward away at both runs, the first down the Flemington straight behind Frost Flowers and then was held-up behind Najmaty at Caulfield last time. The 1200m here ticks a lot of boxes and she looks good each-way value. KARACASU is a promising local who followed a good debut with a smart win over Brother’s Shadow last time, and getting out to 1200m also looks ideal. ISLES OF AVALON found the line strongly on debut and should take plenty out of that run. CLOUDY won that race and she hasn’t done a lot wrong. The question mark will be running out a strong 1200m, but she draws well. HE’S XCEPTIONAL has claims despite a wide gate. PRINCESS RAFFLES has been craving the 1200m while FROM PANTHERLAND went around at big odds on debut but made very good ground from the back.

SELECTIONS: I AM ENCHANTING, Karacasu, Isles Of Avalon

RACE 9 - 4:55PM Chairman's Stakes (to be run on Morphettville Main Track) (2040 METRES)

Keen on DEEPSTRIKE who has been to Adelaide and run well in the Hill Smith Stakes behind Ain’tnodeeldun. There was a lot to like his latest win at Sandown when he sat back and came wide, quickly racing past Nobel Heights and looking to have plenty in hand. NOBEL HEIGHTS was brave in defeat on that occasion after he was caught wide throughout. He faces a tricky barrier here which hasn’t enhanced his chances but he’s a stayer with a future. ROYAL MILE hasn’t done much wrong this time in work and he showed a brilliant turn of foot when he let down and raced away to win the Port Guineas. He’s the clear best local hope. ELLMAKNIFICO looks another promising stayer who fought off a late dive to win last time and should get a gun run from barrier five. MILETUS shows promise and gets Damien Lane from barrier four, while CASINO SEVENTEEN won three straight before a game effort when only run down late by Royal Mile last time.

SELECTIONS: DEEPSTRIKE, Nobel Heights, Royal Mile, Ellmaknifico
