RACE 1 - 12:21PM Schild Estate Handicap (1000 METRES)

PRANCE ‘N’ DANCE was impressive beating Biographer first-up from a break. She draws a good barrier and looks hard to beat. DECLARED shapes as the improver with the blinkers going on after he made good ground behind Prance ‘N’ Dance on debut. SGHIRRIPA won a Gawler trial smartly and draws well for his debut. He’s been well tried in early markets. ALPHA FLIGHT ran 2nd in the same trial. ROCKSTAR MEGGSY wears blinkers for her debut and worked through the line well in the same trial. FREYTAMFAL has trialled well for her return. OUR SELECTION is another on debut with Todd Pannell taking the ride and has been specked.

SELECTIONS: 4 PRANCE ‘N’ DANCE, 6 Sghirripa, 1 Alpha Flight, 7 Rockstar Meggsy

PLAY: Happy to watch on.

RACE 2 - 12:57PM The Junction Handicap (1300 METRES)

FONSALETTE was a hard watch last week when badly held-up before running 4th behind Samesyn when well supported. She draws a nice gate and looks hard to beat with even luck here. STRIKE EAGLE raced on speed here beating Vain Fox here last time. He gets in well after the claim. FOX GEM broke through on the outer track last time and should get every chance here from a good barrier. PREDETERMINED has been placed at his past three but has a big weight and sticky barrier. MAX FIRE is a nice type who was a winner here in September and has trialled well.

SELECTIONS: 6 FONSALETTE, 2 Strike Eagle, 4 Fox Gem, 1 Predetermined

PLAY: Keen on FONSALETTE to make amends here.

RACE 3 - 1:32PM Weslo Security Handicap (1000 METRES)

Looks a race with good speed. ALL BANTER was narrowly beaten first-up last time in. She’s a Listed winner at Caulfield and will take some gunning down around here with the help of a claim. DEEP SPEED is unbeaten in two first-up runs and was tried in better races in the spring. He will roll forward and make his presence felt. ANOTHER AWARD maps to get a nice run behind them and she has been freshened since she chased home Lighthouse at Flemington in December. LARIMER STREET worked home well first-up from a spell behind Brimarvi Vehero. PROPELLE draws to get a nice run behind the speed must be respected first-up for Will Clarken. OCTANE has been good in two runs back, he draws a tricky gate but has the ability to close quickly late if the speed is electric up front.

SELECTIONS: 1 ALL BANTER, 4 Deep Speed, 7 Another Award, 5 Larimer Street

PLAY: Something each-way ANOTHER AWARD.

RACE 4 - 2:07PM TAB Adelaide Cup Day - Monday March 14 Handicap (2250 METRES)

He draws wide but this looks another nice race for OATH OF OMERTA who won twice in the space of four days, the latest beating All Hard Wood here. Victorian LOOK SHARPISH beat all but Miss Five Hundred and Sandown two starts back and that’s solid form for this. Fellow border hopper DOUBLE DELIGHT was a Camperdown winner two starts back and draws to get a nice run. PEARLMAN also comes to Adelaide racing OK and gets some weight relief after the claim. LUTZ draws OK and he boxed on well behind Call Me Shamus last week on the outer track.

SELECTIONS: 1 OATH OF OMERTA, 4 Look Sharpish, 7 Double Delight, 3 Pearlman

PLAY: Keen on OATH OF OMERTA.

RACE 5 - 2:47PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1550 METRES)

Open race and I’m staying with SKY CALL who led and defeated Heir Of Tavistock here last time. He draws poorly but that is offset slightly with the Ben Price claim. COMFORT GIRL is the horse with upside. She was set to resume over the 1200m a couple of weeks ago but was saved for this over the 1550m which looks a lot more to her liking. She has a good barrier and claim and can give this a shake. TULLYS GOLD has been racing well and bursting to win in similar races and he maps well from the good gate. LAKE’S FOLLY is another who has been racing well and he been placed at two of three starts here. DOES IT is second-up here and capable of improving quickly. FOX D’OR ran into all sorts of trouble at Gawler. He clearly has some ability but this is a rise in class.

SELECTIONS: 4 SKY CALL, 9 Comfort Girl, 3 Tully’s Gold, 1 Lake’s Folly

PLAY: Something each-way COMFORT GIRL.

RACE 6 - 3:27PM Thomas Farms Handicap (1000 METRES)

Plenty of interest here in the return of smart filly PHILONIZE. She won three on the bounce last time in work and she has trialled well beating Gytrash. Slight concern about the wide barrier and good speed drawn underneath her but she might be simply too good for the older horses here. PARIANO comes off a very good effort running 2nd behind Spin The Reward. She has good speed and should find the lead here from a good barrier and could be the worry for the favourite. LARKHAM has a good record here and he ran well driven off the speed behind Quietly Discreet when resuming. HILLS was a winner here four starts back and was OK behind Quietly Discreet last start.

SELECTIONS: 4 PHILONIZE, 1 Pariano, 3 Larkham, 7 Hills

PLAY: The $2.50 PHILONIZE might seem like a gift if she is as good as we hope!

RACE 7 - 4:07PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1250 METRES)

FIELDS OF IVY has won two races, both resuming, and she’s had a couple of trials for her return. She was a Ballarat winner back in May and looks the top pick in a tricky race. The watch is CAFE RIZU who makes her debut for the Clarken stable and was placed at Moonee Valley in July. YEELANNA ran well when she was only grabbed late behind Wounded Solider at Gawler last time and draws to get a nice run in the race. SPELMAN comes out of the same race and is a horse who jumped out well before resuming and could be the improver. ALL IMPORTANT draws a tricky barrier, SELF SUFFICIENT is worth another chance, he got a long way back last week and is big odds again, but his best would be in the finish in a race like this. TOYETIC is first-up for Aaron Bain and has ability.

SELECTIONS: 4 FIELDS OF IVY, 3 Cafe Rizu, 12 Yeelanna, 9 Spelman

PLAY: YEELANNA looks over the odds from the barrier.

RACE 8 - 4:47PM Furphy Handicap (1400 METRES)

Good race but keen on EMBOLISM if the O’Brien stable elect to come to Adelaide. He was only beaten 2.5 lengths behind I’m Thunderstruck in the Group 1 Toorak and then was sent out a $2.45 favourite in the Sale Cup when he failed before having a spell. He’s won a recent Geelong trial and will take plenty of beating here. ROYAL MILE has won six of 13 and is a very good horse. He won here second-up last year before a good win in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes and maps perfectly from barrier four. NIGHT PASSAGE has won his past two and was too good for Japery here last time. LIANNE has been a real find for Jordan Frew winning her first two starts at Murray Bridge and getting out to 1400m looks ideal for her. The best version of RITRATTO would be in the finish here. He’s been in in the money at five of eight starts here and he has trialled OK. MONGOLIAN MARSHAL is second-up and should be improved.

SELECTIONS: 3 EMBOLISM, 4 Royal Mile, 10 Night Passage, 12 Lianne

PLAY: Very keen EMBOLISM, LIANNE is big odds and worth a small bet.

RACE 9 - 5:25PM Team Grand - Join a Racing Syndicate Handicap (1400 METRES)

Another open race and ZIP AKEED looks well placed here having won two of her past three. She was too good for Cassowary last time and looks perfectly drawn with Paul Gatt in the saddle. BLAH BLAH BLAH ran well effort behind Sky Call last start and has been placed at two of four starts here but does draw a tricky barrier. GOGOLF GURU ran well behind Yulong Justify last time at big odds. She draws out but can be thereabouts with a repeat of that here. KORUTO gets in OK after the claim and looks well placed in a race like this. RUBBLE ran well at big odds last time. FRANKEL STAR and BETTA EDDIE are both worth some thought. FIVE POCKET made good ground behind Gypsy Crown at Murray Bridge last time. GRAFTON AVENUE draws a nice barrier and was placed on the outer track behind Harbouring three starts back.

SELECTIONS: 8 ZIP AKEED, 3 Blah Blah Blah, 7 Gogolf Guru, 1 Koruto

PLAY: Happy to back ZIP AKEED each-way at the $11.
