RACE 1 - 1:40PM Middleton Tavern Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

SIXFOOTONE is on debut for John Macmillan and was runner-up in a trial here back in December and then had a let-up before trialling well behind subsequent winner Calla Dream at Murray Bridge. He draws a good barrier and should know his way around here. PEDIRKA was sent out a $1.90 favourite here last time and was never likely behind Abit Rattley. He’s clearly got ability but he’s hard to have on last time. BOOGIE NIGHTS was OK behind Haziest at Balaklava on debut when favourite and then battled away fairly behind Two Times Twice at Murray Bridge last time. He draws the inside, the stable is flying and has no weight on his back after the claim. FLEURIEU FLIPPER ran really second-up from a spell when narrowly beaten by Abit Rattley here. He draws well and should be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: 9 SIXFOOTONE, 8 Pedirka, 7 Boogie Nights, 2 Fleurieu Flipper

PLAY: Something each-way SIXFOOTONE.

RACE 2 - 2:15PM Elders Real Estate Goolwa Maiden Plate (2050 METRES)

BALLROOM DANCER ticks a lot of boxes for this, trained on track and out in trip after she got a mile back and made good ground running 3rd behind Red Sequoia last time when she covered more than her share of ground. She should give this a shake. ALWAYS SOMETIMES has been here four times for two placings and his latest behind Red Sequoia was OK after having his chance. He draws a good gate and gets out in trip. M’LADY LOIS was placed at Hamilton two starts back over 2200m and is worth some thought. TABLE OF DREAMS was well backed but failed to figure at KI last time. MAKE IT A DOUBLE has been around the mark while stalemate MISS PEARLY KATE improved last time and draws OK.

SELECTIONS: 6 BALLROOM DANCER, 1 Always Sometimes, 8 M'lady Lois, 5 Table Of Dreams

PLAY: BALLROOM DANCER looks suited at the trip.

RACE 3 - 2:50PM Milang Caravan Park Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

RUE VIVIENNE is former Victorian who showed good speed in a jump out here. She draws a sticky barrier but finds a very winnable maiden and looks hard to beat. ASHADY AMBER has raced for a year and was well backed to run favourite when 3rd behind Ultimate View before a break. Her trial was only fair but keep a very close eye on the market with this one. CROSS CREEK warmed up late when resuming at Balaklava behind The Magistrate and gets the blinkers going on again. BELLA SOO was runner-up behind Sabaku at Gawler before battling behind Two Times Twice at Murray Bridge last time. SEE YOU LATER NOW had specking at huge odds and ran well when 3rd behind Abet Rattley here last time. She draws poorly but mut be respected. ARCTIC FLORA has been placed 11 times but never here in three starts at Strathalbyn.

SELECTIONS: 14 RUE VIVIENNE, 3 Ashady Amber, 5 Cross Creek, 10 Bella Soo

PLAY: Keen on RUE VIVIENNE.

RACE 4 - 3:25PM High Street Trading Co Benchmark 54 Handicap (1600 METRES)

ALPHAEUS needs to gain a start as the 4th emergency, but his form is solid, he’s a last-start winner well weighted after the claim and would take beating here. KHESHIG won a Balaklava maiden, and his first-up run was OK making ground behind Alphaeus here. He draws a handy gate and must be respected. CITY BEATS was backed off the map when runner-up behind I’M BULLETPROOF who scored at big odds here on his home track last time. SPY COLONEL has been racing well and can measure-up in a race like this. MODRIC has a handy record here and will find this a big drop in class after chasing home Lake’s Folly last time. Go back four starts he was runner-up behind Aussie Sojourn here. HURRICANE MAX made good ground at Penola last time and should appreciate getting out in trip.

SELECTIONS: 17 ALPHAEUS, 1 Kheshig, 11 City Beats, 4 Spy Colonel

PLAY: ALPHAEUS and KHESHIG both look big odds in a race I wasn’t keen on.

RACE 5 - 4:00PM Goolwa Central Meats Benchmark 54 Handicap (1350 METRES)

BAMYAN BUDDHA looked a handy type last time in but has been plain at two runs back beaten by 14 and 18 lengths but in much stronger company. He gets his chance to improve. I’m happy to give GENERAL MINT another chance, he jumped out well before he was caught wide, and nothing went right behind Alphaeus here last time. He draws poorly but shapes as an improver. SABAKU was a Gawler winner at $1.45 and then led when beaten into 5th behind Bignota at Balaklava last time. MR RANGER ran 2nd in the same race and was runner-up here behind Miss Mucinni two starts back. SAWTELL is a former NSW galloper with Garret Lynch and was a Coffs Harbour winner in December.

SELECTIONS: 1 BAMYAN BUDDHA, 3 General Mint, 5 Sabaku, 6 Mr Ranger

PLAY: If the best BAMYAN BUDDHA shows up he should take beating but happy to watch on.

RACE 6 - 4:35PM Fleurieu Milk Benchmark 58 Handicap (2050 METRES)

DOES IT ran well behind Tully’s Gold at Murray Bridge last time, the inside gate with the 4kg claim looks perfect and that form line has stood up since. MUFFLA was an Oakbank winner in January and comes out of the Tully’s Gold race at Murray Bridge, the step up in trip looks ideal for him. BADONKIDONK was well backed and won softly at Bordertown last time. He jumps up in distance but should go well. BRIABELLA has been placed at two of four starts here. REINVIGORATE is a hard one to line up. She won here over 1600m back in December and has been well beaten behind Resurge in the Cup here and then Morty in town which is stronger than this. PIG IN MUD got a mile back and made some ground behind I’m Bulletproof last time. DARKEN UP can run OK in a race like this on his Naracoorte win back in February. HALEAKALA ran well at a price at Stawell last time. ARMAMENT has been racing well and does good OK here.

SELECTIONS: 1 DOES IT, 3 Muffla, 2 Badonkidonk, 13 Briabella

PLAY: DOES IT should take beating.

RACE 7 - 5:10PM Northpoint Fleurieu Class 2 Handicap (1200 METRES)

FOX GEM was unlucky on debut before winning at Morphettville. He got back and failed to make an impression behind Starsongari last time and has trialled well since. Draws well, home track and has a claim. YE HELLA has been in the money at all three starts here and wasn’t beaten far behind Love Magic in town last time. LOMAX was racing well last time in work and has trialled nicely for this. HIBBITY DIBBITY was a Penola winner three starts back and good here behind Conconi here last time. MALINONG CLUB is on debut for David Jolly and shown ability. CAPTAIN BRIDGES isn’t far away and draws a nice barrier. RICHED comes off a good Clare win. BEERZ WITH CLINT was placed here behind Equichunk before being only fair last time behind Inspired Sun.

SELECTIONS: 2 FOX GEM, 3 Ye Hella, 1 Lomax, 9 Hibbity Dibbity

PLAY: FOX GEM is the horse with the most upside and may continue to drift.
