RACE 1 - 12:12PM Thomas Farms Handicap (1000 METRES)

Interesting race to start the day the AITCH TWO OH is chasing two on the bounce for a red-hot Richard and Chantelle Jolly stable and was well backed to lead throughout on the main track on debut. She draws to lead again and will take some catching. Danger looks MERCHELLE from the Kavanagh stable who has jumped out twice winning her first and then sitting behind the speed in the latest, both at Flemington. Keep an eye on the market. PRINCE TIKEA should take plenty out of his debut when he ran OK behind Alpha Flight. AESCULUS won a Morphettville jump-out last month, likewise the Stokes-trained SEPORIA won a Strathalbyn jump-out. SUPER SHARP and SUPER ALABA both finished alongside each other in a trial at Murray Bridge.

SELECTIONS: 1 AITCH TWO OH, 5 Merchelle, 2 Prince Tikea, 7 Seporia

PLAY: AITCH TWO OH ticks all the boxes.

RACE 2 - 12:47PM Furphy Handicap (1250 METRES)

Tricky little race, happy to have something each-way on OFFICE JIM who won at Cranbourne three starts back and comes out of a strong race at Moonee Valley chasing home Snapper who tackles the G1 William Reid on Friday night. He maps well from the barrier and looks the value in the race. MUSTER has returned in good form winning Murray Bridge before a good effort behind Sparkup on Adelaide Cup Day. He gets some weight relief, but where he ends up from the wide gate is a concern. RIALTOR will make the speed and was good leading throughout to win here last week. AIGUILETTE ticks a few boxes, an inside gate and he has won here three times. He made good ground first-up behind Munster. KAYSERI made ground in the race won by Rialtor last week and also draws a nice barrier.

SELECTIONS: 3 OFFICE JIM, 1 Munster, 6 Rialtor, 2 Aiguilette

PLAY: Happy to play OFFICE JIM each-way.

RACE 3 - 1:22PM Dominant Handicap (1950 METRES)

The Campbell Rawiller claim is a big plus here for SANBLAS who jogged in at Murray Bridge last start. He’s poorly drawn but has come back in great form and looks hard to beat again with even luck. PRINCE OF FENCES looks the danger. He won his maiden easily at Strathalbyn before a good effort behind Sanblas at Murray Bridge last time and meets him slightly better at the weights. FRENCH WAR won his maiden at Benalla before an OK effort at Ballarat and the Price/Kent Jnr stable are jumping up in distance here which should suit. Likewise the extra trip should suit A PINCH OF LUCK. ALL HARD WOOD doesn’t run too many bad races and comes off a good effort behind Comfort Girl last week. ENBARR could run a cheeky race up on speed.

SELECTIONS: 1 SANBLAS, 7 Prince Of Fences, 5 French War, 3 All Hard Wood

PLAY: SANBLAS looks very well placed here.

RACE 4 - 1:57PM Charles Melton Wines Handicap (1000 METRES)

THREE TEARS has won three of nine and showing some promise. She was a Mt Gambier first-up from a spell, maps well from the good barrier and can win again here. ASTON RAPOVA is first-up and has trialled well for his return. He has form around some handy types last time in and must be respected here. SOMEWATT FABULOUS should be an improver after she led when resuming and only tired late behind Mac ‘N’ Cheese who is a promising filly. SPELMAN was very strong in the market when 3rd behind Love Magic last starts. He’s finding it hard to win but must be given some thought. ALL IMPORTANT draws an inside barrier could be one to keep an eye at a price. EMINENT SON is racing well.

SELECTIONS: 1 THREE TEARS, 4 Aston Rapova, 7 Somewatt Fabulous, 8 Spelman

PLAY: Happy to stay out here.

RACE 5 - 2:37PM Grand Syndicates - Supporting SA Racing Handicap (1550 METRES)

Good race and shapes are a pointer to upcoming features races. HARLEYMOVEN was huge behind Ancient Girl in the Morphettville Guineas last time when he charged home and was beaten just 2.6 len. The issue could be the slight drop in distance but he’s a horse with upside. MAX FIRE raced up on the speed in the same race and there was plenty to like about his previous win at Balaklava. He will take running down here. MARACOURT is a horse with a lot of upside and was impressive coming from well back to win at Mt Gambier. He’s another I’m keen to follow over further and will get back from a wide gate. RESIDUE is another who comes off a good run in the Guineas and draws well. He’s another who will appreciate the outer track and more ground going forward. BOOLCUNDA KING has ability and the step up in trip suits.

SELECTIONS: 2 HARLEYMOVEN, 1 Max Fire, 4 Maracourt, 3 Residue

PLAY: MAX FIRE is the value.

RACE 6 - 3:17PM The Junction Handicap (Main Track) (1200 METRES)

STRUCK BY has been super winning his two starts back from a break from up on speed. He draws to roll forward, gets the claim and can win again here. ANOTHER AWARD was a hard watch at Murray Bridge last time when nothing went right. She ran an eye-catching second behind All Banter at her previous start and looks a danger. EVENING GLORY was well backed when 2nd at Moonee Valley behind Maritana last start, that’s solid form for a race like this but he draws a sticky gate. QUIETLY DISCREET was impressive first-up before she knocked up late at Murray Bridge last time out. DANON ROMAN was placed at Listed level last year and draws to run a cheeky race first-up. MAGNETIC EDGE will get a nice run here.

SELECTIONS: 2 STRUCK BY, 8 Another Award, 7 Evening Glory, 9 Quietly Discreet

PLAY: Keen on STRUCK BY but ANOTHER AWARD is the saver each-way.

RACE 7 - 3:57PM Clare Lindop Stakes (Main Track) (1600 METRES)

A lot to like about the win of MAC ‘N’ CHEESE first-up from a spell when she didn’t have a lot of racing room but powered between horses to win here on Adelaide Cup Day. The stable has Oaks ambitions, the extra trip looks ideal, and she maps perfectly. SAUCEY HORSEY is hard to line-up coming off two wins in country Victoria but is trained by the Maher/Eustace stable and is a horse who should appreciate getting out in distance. PERCEPTIVE comes out of a strong race at Flemington behind Fortunate Kiss and was a Sandown winner at her previous outing. She’ll give this a shake. Local RICH GINA got a mile back before winning on debut and then was able to bounce on speed and hold off Last Girl Love on the Parks last time. FJORD has been favourite at all four starts and is another who will appreciate stepping out in distance. LAST GIRL LOVE was game last time and has her share of ability. Stablemate PREFER US jogged in back in class last time but draws poorly. IN THE DARKNESS has ability and has trialled well since disappointing as favourite at Murray Bridge but may need it even further.

SELECTIONS: 1 MAC ‘N’ CHEESE, 2 Saucey Horsey, 5 Perceptive, 4 Rich Gina

PLAY: Keen on MAC ‘N’ CHEESE to win again

RACE 8 - 4:37PM Charlie Hoile Handicap (1550 METRES)

WORDY comes off a good effort when only run down late behind Lake’s Folly last time and that form has stood up again since. He gets some weight relief with the claim, can roll forward and take plenty of beating here. CAFÉ RIZU could be an improver second-up here for the Clarken stable. He has trialled OK since. BIARCHI is another who should improve. She’s out in trip, placed at two of three second up runs and maps well from the barrier. EVENTUALLY is a progressive type who didn’t have a lot of luck in her first two runs before winning at Balaklava. She draws awkwardly but has upside. BELLE OF YORKES has ability and this race looks a good option for her.  THE LADIES MAN maps well although stepping up in class.

SELECTIONS: 1 WORDY, 3 Café Rizu, 5 Biarchi, 9 Eventually

PLAY: Keen on WORDY here.

RACE 9 - 5:19PM Adelaide Racing Carnival April 30th to May 21st Handicap (1400 METRES)

Tricky race to finish the day. WITCHFULTHINKING has been racing well in Victoria chasing home Scorched Earth two starts back before another good effort when 5th behind Takissacod last start. She can roll forward from the good gate and take some beating here. HE’S EXCLUSIVE bounced back to form beating Think Winning here last time but is going to need some luck from a wide barrier. RATHLIN made good ground behind Zoist at Murray Bridge last start. He’s another who has drawn a tricky barrier but should go well. LORD BOUZERON looks over the odds after a nice return behind Struck By and from a good gate. TRADEWIND is another who draws well and has been around the mark. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION looks an improver despite an awkward barrier. KERMY was a Geelong winner four starts back and was OK behind Oriental Legend at Pakenham last start.

SELECTIONS: 5 WITCHFULTHINKING, 8 He’s Exclusive, 3 Rathlin, 2 Lord Bouzeron

PLAY: WITCHFULTHINKING should take some running down.
