RACE 1 - 1:40PM Magain Real Estate Maiden Plate (1900 METRES)

TUPOLEU gets a winnable race here. He was runner-up behind Eventually at Balaklava two starts back, that horse ran huge in town on the weekend, he followed by battling away right up in class in the Adelaide Guineas. Good gate, this looks his race. ALWAYS SOMETIMES has been around the mark and battled on OK behind Ballroom Dancer at Strathalbyn last week. He has been placed here previously. GOLDEN BEAUTY was placed at Clare last time out did run 4th here behind Sweet Ginger in January. WHOSEZOU was sent out favourite at Clare last time but has placed just twice in 17 starts.

SELECTIONS: 5 TUPOLEU, 1 Always Sometimes, 9 Golden Beauty, 4 Whosezou

PLAY: Keen on TUPOLEU

RACE 2 - 2:15PM TAB Maiden Plate (1050 METRES)

SUGGESTIVE MISS was placed behind Street Swagger (and Starsongari) at Gawler on debut before going to KI and ran a $1.80 favourite when beaten by Jacks On Ice. That form has stood up since, he draws a good barrier and gets his chance to break through. DECIBELLES is a filly on debut for Ryan Balfour and trialled fairly behind Pudding last October but won a recent Morphettville jump-out and must be respected here. BARBARA’S WISH had specking at a price behind Extremely Discreet at Murray Bridge on Wednesday and is on the quick back-up.

SELECTIONS: 10 SUGGESTIVE MISS, 8 Decibelles, 7 Barbara’s Wish, 4 Padstow Polly

PLAY: SUGGESTIVE MISS should be too good for these.

RACE 3 - 2:50PM Emmetts Benchmark 62 Handicap (2150 METRES)

MUFFLA has been in the money at all three starts here and beat Ranger Cee Jay here over 1900m in January. He had a perfect run and just missed a placed behind Briabella at Strathalbyn last week and is on the quick back-up. He’ll need some luck from an inside gate, but his best is up to winning this. CLEVER MAN should run well here placed his past couple. He appears a touch below his form from last time in but draws well and should be on speed and giving them something to chase. BACK IN ACTION could be an improver here, his only win came at 2100m, and he should be ready to peak after three runs back. MUG'S GAME has been placed at four of her past five and chased home Sanblas last time which is good form for this. PLYMPTON is a dual winner here and has been OK at his past couple behind Oath Of Omerta and Comfort Girl. REX GOLIATH was well backed in the Comfort Girl race last time and placed behind Art Major on the Parks at his previous. The old boy FLOW METER has been around just three times in his 190-start career but placed in all three and he was OK behind Art Major at Morphettville on the Parks last time.

SELECTIONS: 4 MUFFLA, 1 Clever Man, 5 Back In Action, 7 Mug’s Game

PLAY: MUFFLA can find winning form, BACK IN ACTION the value.

RACE 4 - 3:25PM Ray White Mount Barker Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

PRINCESS RAFFLES showed plenty in her 2yo season and has been OK in two runs back chasing home Jacks On Ice at Morphettville on the Parks last time. The blinkers go off, she draws a middle barrier and won’t get a better chance to shake her maiden tag. LIGHT’S VISION is an interesting runner. Was $11 into $7 at Hamilton and worked home OK behind Hauteur. TOLKIEN only battled on debut at Morphettville last July when beaten 13 lengths behind Keep Reading. He has trialled OK, and Michael Hickmott goes for the blinkers here, but he draws the car park. REBEL LEE made good ground behind Mr Metrics at Clare on debut and the winner has gone on and done so again since. SET TO ROCK was runner-up here behind Lamoree back in January and draws a good barrier. A MIDNIGHT SHADOW has been around the mark in similar races.

SELECTIONS: 13 PRINCESS RAFFLES, 2 Light’s Vision, 7 Tolkien, 14 Rebel Lee

PLAY: PRINCESS RAFFLES clear top pick.

RACE 5 - 4:00PM Klose's Supermarket Benchmark 62 Handicap (1100 METRES)

INSPIRED SUN has been impressive winning his past two at Strathalbyn. He carried 64kg to win easily last time, he draws a gate and should have no issues lugging 62kg around here and is the clear top pick. LUCKY DOG is a danger. He’s three from three here at Oakbank and comes off a good effort behind Attack The Pin at Port Lincoln. He could be the strong horse late. GYPSY CROWN ran well behind Three Tears at Mt Gambier two starts back and then finished 4th behind Grand Host last time at Penola. PALE ALE goes well here, and his fresh record is OK. TURF TAPPER won at Bordertown two starts back and then ran OK behind Grand Host at Penola last time. OAKFIELD GERONIMO is racing well and can measure up. BARACONI was runner-up behind Turf Tapper at Bordertown two starts back.

SELECTIONS: 1 INSPIRED SUN, 4 Lucky Dog, 9 Gypsy Crown, 6 Turf Tapper

PLAY: INSPIRED SUN should be winning, backing LUCKY DOG the place.

RACE 6 - 4:35PM Adelaide Hills Insurance Brokers Benchmark 54 Handicap (Heat 1 Provincial Super Series) (1900 METRES)

Hardest race of the day, went with I’LL BE GONE has OK form for a race like this winning at Hamilton two starts back over the 1600m before an OK run at Swan Hill last time when he bombed the start and was wide. He’s poorly drawn but looks nicely graded if he has any luck from a bad barrier. GREY VITALITY was a winner her three starts back and comes off a good run behind I’m Bulletproof at Strathalbyn last time and the step up in distance should suit her chances. FORAOISE has been placed at his only start here and comes off back-to-back Port Lincoln wins, he draws a good barrier and looks well placed. VANCOUVER VELVET made good ground behind Foraoise last time out, he draws out and has only won the one race but has been placed nine times. APPLIED draws awkwardly but has been placed at two of three starts here and getting out in trip suits.

SELECTIONS: 7 I’LL BE GONE, 14 Grey Vitality, 3 Foraoise, Vancouver Velvet

PLAY: Something each-way I’LL BE GONE.

RACE 7 - 5:10PM Neutrog Benchmark 54 Handicap (1050 METRES)

Anther tricky race but going with VALLEY OF DARKNESS who was a Murray Bridge winner in June 2020 and has had just the two runs in almost two years, running 2nd here both times, the first behind Sea Witness in December and then she was run down by The Trance Factor in January. She looks hard to beat. RICHED was a Clare winner two starts back and then solid behind Ye Hella at Strathalbyn last time. DEXTER DUTTON is first-up here and has been in the money at two of three, the latest here behind The Trance Factor in January. LIBERTY POWER has a good record this track and trip and could be in improver. VIETTI can run a cheeky race.

SELECTIONS: 17 VALLEY OF DARKNESS, 4 Riched, 2 Dexter Dutton, 7 Liberty Power

PLAY: Backing DEXTER DUTTON the place.
