RACE 1 - 11:52AM The Junction Handicap (2500 METRES)

VARDANI comes here on the back of a good run behind Point Nepean at Bendigo. He draws out, does have synthetic hoof filler for the first time, but looks well placed here. SO BENE was runner-up in the G3 Lord Reims before a freshen when she was beaten as favourite at Gawler last time. She’s the big improver. GRINZINGER STAR comes off Streaky Bay and Kimba Cup wins, he gets in well with the claim and must be respected. PEARL BANDIT was good behind Does It here last time, that form has stacked up again since and he doesn’t run many bad races.

SELECTIONS: 2 VARDANI, 5 So Bene, 1 Grinzinger Star, 3 Pearl Bandit

PLAY: Something on VARDANI.

RACE 2 - 12:27PM Adelaide Racing Carnival - April 30th -May 21st Handicap (1050 METRES)

PRAIRIE FLOWER was a Ballarat winner two starts back and ran OK at Listed level behind Cannonball at Caulfield last time. SEVEN SECRETS led them up when 2nd behind Super Sharp at Gawler on debut. SNOW FALCON trialled nicely at Traralgon and comes to Adelaide for her debut. She carries some expectation and should take beating. The Richard and Chantelle Jolly stable have three debutants POMPEII EMPIRE, SCORPION KING and SOLAR BLAST. Stable rider Jake Toeroek rides POMPEII EMPIRE ran 2nd in a Morphettville trial behind Twin Stars (who was a winner on debut), SCORPION KING ran 4th behind The Brill Building in a trial, SOLAR BURST ran second in the same trial.

SELECTIONS: 4 PRAIRIE FLOWER, 10 Snow Falcon, 1 Seven Secrets, 3 Pompeii Empire

PLAY: Backing SNOW FALCON.

RACE 3 - 1:02PM Fleurieu Milk Company Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

TOPEKA gets the blinkers for the first time and was runner-up at Geelong two starts back and then OK at More Than Discreet. Stable is on fire, and she can give this a shake. QUEMAN was luckless at Oakbank last weekend. His trial was good, and he should be thereabouts here. STRIKE AWARD has been runner-up at both starts and he won a recent Morphettville trial. FONSALETTE has shown enough to be given some thought in this race.

SELECTIONS: 12 TOPEKA, 4 Queman, 5 Strike Award, 10 Fonsalette

PLAY: Something each-way TOPEKA.

RACE 4 - 1:42PM Keep the Legacy Promise this Anzac Day Handicap (Heat 8 SA Sprint Series) (1050 METRES)

EXTREMELY LUCKY created a big impression on debut which saw him sold to clients of the Clarken stable. SMOKIN’ VAL is a good mare who ran well behind Lombardo in the Manihi last time. She gets the blinkers on for the first time. KARACASU is another interesting runner. He looked an above average two-year-old and has been in the money at four of five starts here. He draws wide but must be respected. BROTHER’S SHADOW falls into the same category and hasn’t raced since winning at Port Lincoln back in November. He has similar form lines to Karacasu and gets the blinkers. LARKHAM has been in good form dead heating with Bleriot three starts back on the Parks before a good run behind Gaze Grise last time. He maps well from a good barrier. TRIP gets in here well after the claim, she was scratched from the sprint at Oakbank last weekend and draws to be on speed and run a cheeky race from the good draw. Stablemate SILVER ON RED has talent. SACRED ARMOUR steps up in class after a soft win at Penola win.

SELECTIONS: 11 EXTREMEL LUCKY, 4 Smokin’ Val, 3 Karacasu, 2 Larkham

PLAY: Backing SMOKIN’ VAL each-way.

RACE 5 - 2:22PM Grand Syndicates - New Yearlings available now! Handicap (Heat 7 Autumn Series) (1200 METRES)

ANOTHER AWARD was back to her best coming off the speed to race past Magnetic Edge and Struck By last time. Her best is very good, and she looks hard to beat here. LA RICHESSE has jump out well for her return. She’s a winner first-up and could run a cheeky race from a good barrier with the claim. LIANNE was racing well before a freshen and she finished off OK behind Calypso Reign at here last time and she can improve again. OFFICE JIM defied a drift in betting to run down Munster here last time. AIGUILETTE was back to winning form here last time. TOMMY BLUE was racing well before a break.

SELECTIONS: 2 ANOTHER AWARD, 8 La Richesse, 10 Lianne, 4 Office Jim

PLAY: Keen on ANOTHER AWARD to win again.

RACE 6 - 3:02PM R N Irwin Stakes (1100 METRES)

Hot race. TREKKING is a Goodwood winner while INSTANT CELEBRITY and BELLA VELLA have won the past two Sangsters and both resume. TREKKING was very good in the William Reid behind September Run. He draws a good gate and is the class factor. SWAT’S THAT comes out of the Newmarket running 5th behind Roch ‘N’ Horse. She was runner-up behind Nature Strip in the VRC Classic in the spring and looks perfectly placed here at the set weights. INSTANT CELEBRITY draws to get a good run in the race and comes off a disappointing spring. It’s hard to know what to expect from BELLA VELLA who is back from the breeding barn but she has trialled well and draws the inside gate. OUTLAWS REVENGE started to put it together last campaign winning at Listed level. SHAMINO ran well behind Lombardo in the Manihi but draws wide.

SELECTIONS: 5 SWATS THAT, 1 Trekking, 6 Instant Celebrity, 7 Bella Vella

PLAY: Backing SWATS THAT with the race fitness on his side.

RACE 7 - 3:39PM Furphy Handicap (1600 METRES)

FOX D’OR is a promising horse who thrived on good tempo to break through at Balaklava two starts back and then backed up four days later and repeated that to beat Ambidazzle here last time. He draws a tricky barrier but looks a horse starting to put it together. UNLACED was an eye catcher two starts back before an OK effort behind Smart Promise. She draws awkwardly but gets in well after the claim. AMBIDAZZLE led and was only grabbed late but Fox D’Or last time. PUDDING comes out of the same race and was plain on face value but was an impressive winner first-up. HARBOURING was runner-up behind Blue Bear at Oakbank on Saturday before backing up and winning there on Monday RAPID RAISER worked home OK late behind Capricorn Ride last time. REBEL LEE comes off a maiden win at odds and maps to get a good run.

SELECTIONS: 5 FOX D’OR, 2 Unlaced, 3 Ambidazzle, 8 Pudding

PLAY: Tricky race, something each-way UNLACED and backing RAPID RAISER to run a place.

RACE 8 - 4:17PM Redelva Stakes (1100 METRES)

HERESY has been here and won before. He was impressive first-up coming from well back in the field to win at G3 level in Sydney last time and should go well despite the barrier. Stablemate BACCHANALIA comes off a good run when 2nd behind Mazu at Listed level in Sydney and that good form lines. I AM ME has won her past tow impressively and looks a filly with big future. MANHATTEN TIMES is an exciting local who came off the speed and flashed late behind Ironclad in the Matrice Stakes. He won his two previous starts and looks capable of stepping up in class. Another local MAGIC MAX is a promising horse, and he had no luck at Caulfield last time behind Scissor Step. He maps to get a gun run here. CHAMPAGNE DREAMS is another quality local who was narrowly beaten in the G3 Typhoon Tracy last time. She is more than capable. EXTREME FLIGHT won the Gothic Stakes in the spring before tackling the Coolmore. His three runs back have been OK but he does face an awkward wide barrier. DIRECT has very good speed but has been run down in all three runs this time in. He draws out but must be respected.

SELECTIONS: 3 HERESY, 12 I Am Me, 6 Magic Max, 5 Manhatten Dreams

PLAY: Keen on HERESY in a very good race.

RACE 9 - 4:55PM Murray and Barb Stewart's 64th Anniversary Handicap (1600 METRES)

EAGLES CRAG is a good horse who won twice before chasing home Mr Brightside at Sandown last August. He won first-up at Benalla before running favourite at Sandown last time at Caulfield. FEUERMOND should have won here last time when runner-up behind Smart Promise. He shapes a big improver here. AESOP had specking first-up at Caulfield only beaten 2.15 lengths behind Worthily. CAFÉ TORTONI has been around the mark and runner-up here at his only start. CROWN MINT can run well here. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION has been racing well and just missed last time behind My Mate Sonny. PERFECT ROUTE was OK behind Zoist at Oakbank last weekend, MAGNETIC EDGE was OK in the same race. NOT USUAL GLORIOUS has trialled well since his Sydney run.

SELECTIONS: 7 EAGLES CRAG, 9 Feuermond, 8 Aesop, 6 Café Tortoni

PLAY: Backing EAGLES CRAG.
