Richard and Chantelle Jolly have an army of runners out to secure a third straight South Australian Metropolitan Trainer’s Premiership at Morphettville on Saturday.
The Jolly’s have 11 acceptors on the nine-race card led by talented filly Aviatress who resumes in the Listed Lightning Stakes (1050m) with Jake Toeroek booked to ride from a wide barrier.
The rising four-year-old hasn’t raced since she was beaten less then a length behind Boognish in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes at Morphettville on Goodwood Day and Richard Jolly said the Lightning has been their target.
“She jumped out here on Tuesday, she looked good and has been set for this race,’’ Jolly said.
“There are plenty of options with her (going forward).
“Obviously we’re going to be looking for black type with her this time around, she probably should have done that at her last run when she drew wide in the Proud Miss.
“She’s only had the three weeks off, but there will be plenty of options for her going forward,’’ he said.
Stable rider Jake Toeroek has already secured the Metropolitan Rider’s Premiership and will partner Hard Prince chasing his third win from six starts this time around in a race where they saddle up four runners.
Jacob Opperman will partner Tipsy Vixen chasing three wins in succession, Stacey Metcalfe will ride Reel Whiskey from an outside gate while Will Price has been booked to ride Cherokee Miss.
Neindorf will also ride Karacasu who hasn’t raced since he was placed behind Press Down at Morphettville in May and tackles a strong group of rivals over 1100m while Jacob Opperman partners stablemate Keep Reading in the same race.
