Winning Post-1500m: There is general wear and tear right across, but perhaps slightly closer to the fence in lane 1. I felt lanes 2 and 3 were slightly better ground in this section. Walks a genuine Soft 5, any more rain would push into the 6 range.
1500-800m: There's less wear than the side and coverage is better. Very little difference between lanes 1-3 to the 1200 but perhaps lane 1 is slightly more uneven from that point onwards and a little more sand fill. Approaching the 800m bend there is noticeably more sand fill across the inside 2.5 lanes. Track is looser under foot here and closer to a 6.
800m-400m: More fill across the inside 3 lanes but still thought it was better going than lanes 4-5 which have wear from previous meetings. Beyond that is quite good but doubt any will come that wide here. More fill around the 500m mark but track still quite even across. Soft 5.
400m-Winning Post: It's even across. Coverage slightly better than around the bend. No real lanes of advantage, expecting the inside to hold up quite well. Still not overly keen on lanes 4-5 which is a common theme around the entire circuit.
Verdict: Won’t surprise me if there’s a slight edge to horses racing in lanes 1-3 early but expect it to even up and race fairly towards the middle of the card.
