Winning Post-1500m: With the rail in the same position as the previous meeting on 17th of December this section of the track walks with some decent scuff marks 1 to 2 horses off the fence. The regrowth of the grass is mid to moderate and walks has a Good 4.
1500m-1000m: This section of the track has really taken some nice improvements from the previous meeting with a nice consistent amount of grass cover, creating a nice cushion which will be comfortable for the horses. This section also walks a consistent Good 4.
1000m-400m: Again we see some solid improvement from the previous meeting around the grass cover. There is some minor scuff marks from the 800 metre mark to the 600 metre mark close to the fence but would say it’s minimal, overall this area walks in decent order.
400m-Winning Post: This section of the track walks in fantastic order with a solid grass cover right across the track. The track walks Good 4 and with high temperatures set for tomorrow It should stay in that Good 4 range, but overall the straight walks, very neat and even.
Overall: The track has really improved from the previous meeting, the last meeting held here was very much pace related and the small fields made it look more on pace with 7 or the 9 winners sitting in the first 3 of running. With the big fields, we should see a bit more pace and an even playing field across the day. The track walks are good 4 and it should play fairly for all the participants.
