Opperman's sizzling scorecard

EMERGING apprentice jockey Jacob Opperman is riding a remarkable run of success, heading into today’s Murray Bridge meeting.

Opperman’s past 10 rides – all at midweek meetings in Naracoorte and Gawler respectively – make for impressive reading:

In recent weeks praise has been flowing for the Mount Gambier-based hoop, who has already racked up 18 winners since launching his career in late April.

The 16-year-old’s past 50 rides have yielded a remarkable winning ratio of 22 per cent – making him one of the nation’s hottest jockeys.

Opperman has five rides at today’s Murray Bridge meeting, starting with roughie Sweet Minsky in race two.
