Dalasan's plan coming together

A decision on where and when Cox Plate hopeful Dalasan resumes will be made next Tuesday.

The Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas-trained entire had his first serious hit-out at Morphettville on Monday since he was scratched from the Spring Stakes after he escaped his handler and slipped over.

“We’ve got him back on the track and he’s pleased us,’’ Gluyas said.

“We’ve just got to get a little bit of work into him,’’ he said.

The Bobby Lewis Quality at Flemington next month shapes as the likely return while the Toorak Handicap will be the defining race of his spring.

“It would be great to get him back on the fourth (September 4), but it will probably be September 11,’’ Gluyas said.

“The pivot race will be the Toorak. We’ve got to get two runs into him and get him there.

“From there he will go to the 2000m races,’’ he said.

The Bobby Lewis would be familiar territory for Dalasan with his biggest win coming in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes over the 1200m at Flemington in his three-year-old season.
