Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: ANOTHER AWARD (Race 5)

EACH-WAY: LAKHANI ROSE (Race 9)

VALUE: ANGASTON (Race 4)

RACE 1 - 12:01PM Aramis Handicap (Heat 3 Rebel Raider Series) (1000 METRES)

QEYAADY resumes here on the back of two smart Melbourne wins. He’ll roll forward and shapes as the leader from barrier four and is going to take some catching with some weight relief after the claim for Jacob Opperman. KARACASU is a very nice horse who was game behind Cloudy in the Breeders Stakes and again when 2nd Heresy in the David Coles before a break. He draws well, has plenty of weight but should be right in the finish. KNIGHTSTOWN showed steady improvement last time in running 4th behind Heresy, looks a horse with a future and should get a nice run from barrier two. MISS DANIEL was unwanted in betting before scoring smartly at Balaklava on debut and must be respected.

SELECTIONS: 1. QEYAADY, 2. Karacasu, 3. Knightstown

RACE 2 - 12:36PM G.H Mumm Handicap (Heat 1 Viddora Series) (1400 METRES)

Tricky race on paper. Happy to have something on DISTURBING each-way. Liked her two runs in SA making very good ground, the latest behind Wurlies Lastchance at Murray Bridge. Drawn to get a gun run with Todd Pannell to ride. GIVE ME TEN resumes here and has won two of three resuming. She draws the inside and has trialled OK for this. CONSTANZIA is racing OK, and her form is better than it reads she was only beaten 1.7 lengths behind Turfitt last time. MOSCOW RED has won seven races should be ready to fire at her third run back. In contrast MESCAMINTO is only lightly raced but has won two of six and placed in another three starts and she maps well from gate four. JAAMINT has been going super winning consecutive city races and has been freshened after she failed when a $2 favourite. HILUMIERE is racing well and was good coming off the speed two starts back.

SELECTIONS: 6. DISTURBING, 5. Give Me Ten, 3. Constanzia

RACE 3 - 1:11PM EMR Marble & Granite Handicap (2250 METRES)

Four last-start winners hold the key here. EXALTED AMBITION backs up from a good win here last week, is the best weighted horse in the race and draws a perfect gate. UNDER OATH draws out but was game beating Don’t Waiver at Murray Bridge and looks suited here again, likewise MUNTHAM MISSILE is well placed after her last start win beating Bear Arms. CLASSY JOE made it two wins on the bounce beating Motell last start and has claims despite a wide gate. EXALTED FIRE is on the quick back-up from being placed at Murray Bridge on Wednesday, ABERLADY was backed at a price when 7th a Sandown last time out, BEAR ARMS was good again behind Muntham Missile last time and her chances would increase significantly on a wet surface.

SELECTIONS: 4. EXALTED AMBITION, 2. Under Oath, 3. Muntham Missile

RACE 4 - 1:51PM Fresh Kitchens Handicap (1400 METRES)

PREAKNESS blew like the wind first-up in Australia but was too good for Lomax and is sure to run well again. CLAP was a winner over here first-up for the Jolly camp and had solid market support when 4th behind Picargo last time. ANGASTON gets out to 1400m here where he has won two of five and all his four wins have come over this distance. He gets in well with the claim and can give this a big shake at big odds. MAGNETIC EDGE was a nice run first-up from a break behind Lake’s Folly and the Hickmott/Riggs combination is flying. KONG ran well behind Beau Rossa in the Lightning and again hit the line smartly behind Naleigh last time on the outer track. He maps to race closer to the speed. ROCK HARBOUR worked home well and wasn’t beaten far behind Yulong Code at Murray Bridge and wears the blinkers again.

SELECTIONS: 5. PREAKNESS, 1. Angaston, 4. Magnetic Edge

RACE 5 - 2:31PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 9 - Nov 6 Handicap (1000 METRES)

ANOTHER AWARD is a nice mare who finished off strongly behind Struck By in the Morphettville Guineas and has been placed at both runs here and two wins from three starts fresh. MISS MUCINNI has ability and was impressive winning on debut and her past couple have been OK. She draws a nice barrier and can be in the finish. ALL IN WAR is going to win a race one day, her form in SA has been solid and she must be respected, Todd Pannell goes on. Jon O’Connor’s pair of MAGIC PHANTOM and AKKACAN are both racing well and must be respected. LA VITA has a good fresh record and is worth some thought, while EXLOVER brings some solid Victorian form here.

SELECTIONS: 2. ANOTHER AWARD, 9. Miss Mucinni, 6. All In War

RACE 6 - 3:11PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1250 METRES)

Not many here who don’t have claims. Victorian VONGOLE has a good fresh record and must be kept safe. He hasn’t raced since hitting the line hard behind Dice Roll at Caulfield and was narrowly beaten first-up at Moonee Valley last prep. SO YOU CAN is a watch. He showed plenty of talent early in his career and hasn’t races since running 5th behind Ain’tnodeeldun in the Hill Smith Stakes last year and has trialled OK for his return. PERFECT ROUTE strips fitter here after resuming behind the big guns Behemoth and Beau Rossa in the Spring Stakes. He draws a nice gate and is going to be fighting out the finish. NALEIGH was perfectly ridden to score last start beating Rizski and should get an economical run from gate four.

SELECTIONS: 2. VONGOLE, 9. So You Can, 1. Perfect Route

RACE 7 - 3:51PM Leon Macdonald Stakes (Formerly Penny Edition Stakes) (1400 METRES)

IRONCLAD has been impressive winning four straight for Will Clarken. He scored first-up at 1200m last time in work and is going to take plenty out of the run as he heads to much better races. He’s a good horse who can stamp his spring credentials here. Stablemate SECOND SLIP was impressive sitting just off the speed to score first-up at Caulfield. He has been impressive since coming to SA, maps to take up a spot here and should be fighting out the finish. He pulled himself into the ground first-up down the Flemington straight, he draws out here but should be thereabouts. Liked the run of RITRATTO behind the big guns in the Spring Stakes, he can roll forward and give them something to chase. SPECIALISM has been racing well and was good winning two runs back before ridden closer to the speed behind Picargo last time.

SELECTIONS: 1. IRONCLAD, 5. Second Slip, 6. Ritratto

RACE 8 - 4:30PM Grand Syndicates Handicap (Heat 8 NJT Series) (1550 METRES)

Tricky race. SHE’S A KARAKA was a good winner first-up for David Jolly before a handy effort behind Melody Man last time. She can settle closer from the good barrier and looks a solid each-way chance. TIBETAN was runner-up behind Turfitt at Morphettville two runs back and again ran well behind Melody Man last start. CELESTIAL ILLUSION was a winner here two starts back before running 2nd behind Monraaj at Balaklava last time out. MORTY is worth some thought if he gains a start, he was a big drifter before winning well last time. VALENTINO’S ON was a maiden winner on the synthetic at Ballarat last time and must be given some thought from a good barrier. UNDERSTATEMENT has been specked a price after running favourite at Gawler last time.

SELECTIONS: 6. SHE’S A KARAKA, 2. Tibetan, 3. Celestial Illusion

RACE 9 - 5:05PM Nigel Latham Memorial Handicap (1000 METRES)

Good race to end the day. LAKHANI ROSE hit the line well first-up from a spell closing late off a moderate tempo behind Winning Weather. She has a good record, and her best form is right up to winning this. HE’S A BALTER is flying and made it three wins from his last four when he powered past Free Of Debt to win. Stablemate GREAT DIVINER is also going super and won well here two starts back before running down the track behind boom horse I’m Thunderstruck at Moonee Valley last time. BRIMARVI VEHERO draws the inside, he hasn’t done a lot wrong this campaign and will be right in the finish again. ALLEBOOM also draws a perfect gate and must be given plenty of thought. He’s never been out of the money in four starts this track and trip. THOMPSON’S REWARD made ground last behind Free Of Debt and can figure. STAR HILLS is three from three here and should get a nice run.

SELECTIONS: 10. LAKHANI ROSE, 6. He’s A Balter, 14. Great Diviner
