RACE 1 - 1:40PM The Greenman Inn Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

XTRA FUN is the watch. She's a McEvoy filly who trialled at Morphettville last February and then went to the paddock. She trialled at Geelong recently and then followed-up with an Avoca jump-out running 3rd behind stablemate Deep Speed. She draws well and looks hard to beat. CALLA DREAM looked good winning a Morphettville trial before she was $3.60 to $2.60 at Naracoorte on debut when beaten by Real Roy. The winkers go on. TWO TIMES TWICE will appreciate the experience and jumping from 900m on debut to the 1200m here. He draws out but should run well having been around here plenty in trackwork. FAMOUS PRINCE has been placed in two trials and draws to be on speed here on his home track.

SELECTIONS: 14 XTRA FUN, 12 Calla Dream, 5 Two Times Twice, 3 Famous Prince

PLAY: XTRA FUN looks perfectly placed.

RACE 2 - 2:15PM Macclesfield Hotel Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)

SHIRAZABEEL looks nicely placed here. She was good back in Victorian working through the line at Warrnambool before coming to SA and was strong late running 2nd behind Reality Check. She gets out to the mile here draws a perfect barrier. The money has come early for COYOTE. He’s shown ability and was runner-up at Gawler two starts back before running 5th behind Morty in town. That’s very good form for a race like this. ROBE RAIDER has been runner-up his past two the latest at Oakbank behind Plympton back in December. He draws a nice barrier and is horse with upside. PRINCE JOFRA has been placed at his past three and has claims despite a car park draw. ALWAYS SOMETIMES has been racing well and comes off an OK run here behind Semyorka.

SELECTIONS: 12 SHIRAZABEEL, 5 Coyote, 11 Robe Raider, 6 Prince Jofra

PLAY: Looks a race in two, SHIRAZABEEL has upside.

RACE 3 - 2:50PM Middleton Tavern Handicap (1350 METRES)

JIVE BABY has been placed at three of four starts here and tried hard behind Harbouring at Murray Bridge last time. He’s very firm in early betting and looks hard to beat. KILLARNEY KISS had some OK Victorian form and was well backed at odds when down the track behind Lady Dunmore first-up in SA. She is nice each-way odds. SHE’S A KARAKA was doing her best work late when 7th behind Sanblas here first-up from a break but the margin was great, and she will take plenty out of that effort. INDY MAGIC was a winner here two starts back and then OK behind Miss Langtry last time. DISAGREEABLE MISS went around big odds when too good at Oakbank back in December. She draws well and must be respected. GOO BOO BOO was well supported to win here last time, and she must be respected again.

SELECTIONS: 8 JIVE BABY, 6 Killarney Kiss, 3 She’s A Karaka, 2 Indy Magic

PLAY: Something each-way SHE’S A KARAKA

RACE 4 - 3:25PM Meadows Hotel Handicap (1600 METRES)

PRINCE OF FENCES was very good here behind Go Boo Boo first-up from a spell. He won his maiden at Naracoorte before a break and looks very hard to beat in a race like this. MAVETTE was favourite when 5th behind Appollo Jet last time out. He draws out but can run well in a race like this. IGITUR has won five races here and was OK at KI behind Run On last time. SEMYORKA controlled the speed to win his maiden on the same day at a price. He draws a nice barrier and looks well suited again. BUT BEAUTIFUL put together consecutive Bordertown wins and should get a nice run from the barrier.

SELECTIONS: 1 PRINCE OF FENCES, 4 Mavette, 2 Semyorka

PLAY: Keen on PRINCE OF FENCES.

RACE 5 - 4:00PM Goolwa Hotel Handicap (1100 METRES)

MISS MUCINNI is the best horse in the race but is still learning the caper. She got the job done well here first-up when favourite and only did what she had too. DESIRED won well at Murray Bridge two starts back and then again good behind Fox Gem at Morphettville last time. She should get a nice run from the barrier. EQUICHUNK is flying and chasing four wins on end, and four wins from her past five all here. She went to the front and kept finding last time. She maps well with Stacey Callow again in the saddle and should be in this for a long way. BARACONI has ability and placed at three of four first-up and is a winner here.

SELECTIONS: 4 MISS MUCINNI, 7 Desired, 1 Equichunk

PLAY: EQUICHUNK is over the odds given her record around here.

RACE 6 - 4:35PM Elephant and Castle Hotel Handicap (1200 METRES)

David Jolly has a strong hand here with INSPIRED SON was sent out favourite at his SA debut and tried hard behind an in-form Equichunk here last tie. The blinkers go on, he draws a good gate and looks hard to beat. MR RANGER was good behind Miss Mucinni last time and should be right in this. FINAL CHANCE has been placed at his past three the latest behind Olive Grove at Gawler. He’s been placed at three of five starts here on his home track but does draw wide.

SELECTIONS: 1 INSPIRIED SON, 8 Final Chance, 6 Mr Ranger

PLAY: Keen on INSPIRED SON to go one better.

RACE 7 - 5:10PM Commercial Hotel Handicap (2050 METRES)

Open race to finish. Veteran FLOW METER is going as well as ever. He was beaten 2.7 lengths behind Resurge in the Cup here two starts back before backing up with another solid effort beaten 2.1 lengths behind Oath Of Omerta in city grade. He’s been in the money at three of five starts. Don’t think a horse who has had 187 starts will find a better chance to win again. JACKS A CRACKER had some specking and was good behind Appollo Jet last time and has won three of his six starts here. PLYMPTON was an Oakbank winner four runs back and comes off a solid effort behind The Red Sea at Murray Bridge. He draws a good barrier. ENBARR is fitter for recent racing and can improve in a race like this and could be the blow out. ACE ATTACK draws the inside and get Todd Pannell. LE DUPE was a winner two starts back.

SELECTIONS: 2 FLOW METER, 3 Jack’s A Cracker, 6 Plympton, 4 Enbarr

PLAY: Maybe something on ENBARR at odds but not keen on this race.
