RACE 1 - 1:20PM Scott Group of Companies Benchmark 72 Handicap (Heat 11 Provincial Super Series) (2062 METRES)

CLEVER MAN won the Cup here two starts back before a solid effort behind Does It on the Onkaparinga Cup last time at Oakbank. He has plenty of weight but is going super and should take some beating. CAFÉ RIZU was a winner on the Parks two starts back before chasing home Fox D’Or last time. He draws the inside and looks the danger. BRIGADIER comes off a good Terang Cup run behind Angel Rock, his Mt Gambier Cup run prior was OK, he did beat Clever Man here four starts back and he is the value at $6 in a four-horse field. Stablemate AEROETTE would need to improve here.

SELECTIONS: 1 CLEVER MAN, 3 Café Rizu, 2 Brigadier, 5 Aeroette

PLAY: Something on Brigadier at the $6.

RACE 2 - 1:55PM City of Mount Gambier Maiden Plate (1562 METRES)

ALLGO has been placed at six of 23 starts. Was $10 into $6.50 when 5th behind Prince Jofra at Penola and should run well here. TEEMENZED was runner-up behind Recreant at Penola last time and draws a nice barrier. MARDENE draws well and was placed at Gawler two starts back. FUENTESS was runner-up in a Colac maiden two starts back and looks well placed here despite a tricky barrier.

SELECTIONS: 1 ALLGO, 3 Teemenzed, 4 Mardene, 8 Fuentess

PLAY:  Something small on ALLGO each-way

RACE 3 - 2:30PM Grizzcon Concrete Construction Maiden Plate (912 METRES)

GLOVED is an interesting runner on debut for the Clarken stable. She was $4.40 into $3.40 on debut in the Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville when 5th behind Seradess last March and trialled OK behind Queman who won well in city class on the weekend. SIR ARMINIUS is on debut for Shayne Cahill and was runner-up behind Hibbity Dibbity in a Strathalbyn trial. TEQUILA STORM is on debut for Warrnambool trainer Adam Chambers, draws a nice barrier, and looked OK running 3rd in a recent Terang jump-out. PENSLEY ran 4th in that same jump out, both weren’t really knocked around. FREEDOM DAY was placed behind Ill Don Cavallo at Gawler last time and draws a nice barrier.

SELECTIONS: 8 GLOVED, 4 Sir Arminius, 6 Tequila Storm, 7 Freedom Day

PLAY: GLOVED should be too good here.

RACE 4 - 3:05PM TAB Benchmark 64 Handicap (Heat 10 SA Sprint Series) (912 METRES)

SIDEARM is a former NSW galloper who was close-up at his first two starts in SA in good company and spelled after running 8th behind Kayseri at Morphettville in December. He draws a sticky barrier, but this looks a nice assignment for him first-up. HELLO LADIES looks the danger. He’s a winner first-up and has form around some nice horses like Spin The Reward, Calypso Reign and Sparkup before a break. Well beaten in a recent trial but expect him to run well. SCENIC HOST has won three of eight and hasn’t raced since chasing home Another Award at Morphettville back in October. She’s a nice horse who should be in the finish. RAGING MONKEY was a Hamilton winner three starts back and ran well behind Damascus Moment at Stawell last time. ACTION IN CAIRNS was runner-up behind Black Syrah at Penola last time and is a winner first-up. He gets some help with the claim.

SELECTIONS: 6 SIDEARM, 5 Hello Ladies, 4 Scenic Host, 3 Raging Monkey

PLAY: Keen on SIDEARM, and multi up with the stablemate GLOVED in the previous.

RACE 5 - 3:40PM Carlton Draught Benchmark 64 Handicap (Heat 9 Autumn Series) (1412 METRES)

BEETWENTYNINE was a Donald winner back in May and should strip fitter for one run back form a spell when he was specked at big odds. He’s in very clever hands and must be kept safe here. EAGLES FOREVER is racing very well chasing three wins on end and he was too good for Halo's Quest here last time and should take some beating from an inside barrier. HONOUR DE HERO was a Warrnambool winner two starts back and then made good ground at Avoca last time. She should run well here down in the weights. MELISSA KATE comes off a good run behind Rialtor at Penola. WILD COLONIAL BOY has been in the money at all four starts here and strips fitter for one run back when well beaten at Sacred Armour.

SELECTIONS: 3 BEETWENTYINE, 4 Eagles Forever, 11 Honour De Hero, 7 Melissa Kate

PLAY: Something each-way on both BEETWENTYNINE and HONOUR DE HERO at their prices.

RACE 6 - 4:15PM Kym McLean Memorial Benchmark 58 Handicap (1212 METRES)

NERRIVIK was impressive winning at Clare on debut. She draws a nice barrier and should be hard to beat in a race like this. RECREANT was $3.30 into $1.95 at Penola on debut and won by 2 lengths beating Teemenzed. He draws the inside gate and should take some beating here. AMFISSA is an interesting runner a former Chris Waller horse first-up for Richard Wilson. BUNUMBURT had specking at a price and got the money at Penola last time. He draws out but must be respected. GYPSY CROWN was an Oakbank winner three starts back and was OK behind Sacred Armour last time.

SELECTIONS: 8 NERRIVIK, 3 Recreant, 1 Amfisa, 9 Bunumburt

PLAY: NERRIVIK is worth a play at the $3.50.

RACE 7 - 4:50PM SE Marquee's Weddings and Events Benchmark 54 Handicap (1562 METRES)

YOUNG LARS was a Strathalbyn winner three starts back before a good effort at Hamilton. He settled back and made good ground behind Malinong Club at Strathalbyn last week and should give this a shake. PREDICATED had good specking and ran well finishing 3rd behind Our Ellie Rose here last time. He draws a nice barrier. ALI ORPHAN has been placed at four of five starts here and was sent out favourite when 7th behind Loose Lip Lloyd. She can improve here. LOOSE LIP LLOYD was specked at odds before leading throughout to win at Penola last time and is a winner here.

SELECTIONS: 7 YOUNG LARS, 1 Predicated, 9 Ali Orphan, 6 Loose Lip Lloyd

PLAY: Happy to back YOUNG LARS.
