QUIETLY DISCREET (Race 6)
FORBIDDEN CITY (Race 7)

EACH-WAY PLAY

CROWNED MONARCH (Race 9)

RACE 1 - 11:47AM Thomas Farms Handicap (1550 METRES)

EN FRANCAIS is short and for good reason. She finally drew a decent barrier and led throughout for an easy 7.6 length Gawler win last time. She should be winning again. YURI ROYALE strips fitter for a good run back and looks the danger, if there is one. BOOKMAN brings OK Victorian form here and draws a good gate with Todd Pannell riding. GETOUTTHEWAY was OK behind Cashin’ Chex at Gawler last time and the small field suits his pattern.

SELECTIONS: 4 EN FRANCAIS, 2 Yuri Royale, 5 Bookman, 1 Getouttheway
PLAY: EN FRANCAIS should be too good and a must for multis.

RACE 2 - 12:22PM Schild Estate Handicap (1550 METRES)

Looks two main winning hopes. CASHIN’ CHEX and JAGUARY. CASHIN’ CHEX was narrowly beaten by Mr Pickwick two starts back before regaining winning form at Gawler last time. He gets in well at the weights here despite the class rise and should take some beating again for an in form Ashton Downing. JAGUARY has been in great form and is on the 7-day back-up from a good win here last week when he appreciated a strong tempo up front. Small field suits and he’s the danger. UNLACED ran well behind Cashin’ Chex last time and should be thereabouts from a good barrier. KUTAYHA improved second-up for the Jolly stable behind Set To Prophet and is worth some thought.

SELECTIONS: 3 CASHIN’ CHEX, 1 Jaguary, 4 Unlaced, 6 Kutayha
PLAY: Backing CASHIN’ CHEX again.

RACE 3 - 12:57PM Congratulations Flow Meter on ‘200’ Handicap (2250 METRES)

Another small field but good clash. SMILING ASSASSIN has been in great form for Garret Lynch and made good ground from a long way behind an impressive Grinzinger Star in the Pt Augusta Cup last time at his first go on the dirt. The extra trip is in his favour. PERFECT ILLUSION has been in good form. He looked all over the winner before being run down at Murray Bridge before then going to Gawler and beating Trumpsta in style. LORD BOUZERON has been racing well in similar company, SILENT COMMAND was OK behind Jaguary last week and jumps up in trip. FLOW METER is a dream result at start 200 in a race named in his honour.

SELECTIONS: 3 SMILING ASSASSIN, 5 Perfect Illusion, 2 Lord Bouzeron, 1 Silent Command
PLAY: Backing SMILING ASSASSIN.

RACE 4 - 1:32PM PFD Foods Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

EROS gets his chance here. He was runner-up behind Winning Revolution at Sale two runs back and then narrowly beaten at Pakenham last time. He draws the perfect gate, gets blinkers and Todd Pannell. KUSU had specking on debut when placed behind Out Of Aflica back in November. He’s trialled nicely and should run well. Stablemate ICE SYMPHONY is nicely bred and won a recent jump-out. RAJNISH is watch on debut for Nick Ryan, he’s a brother to Tasmanian Derby winner Twilight Run and won a Flemington jump-out. LUCIA MARIA debuts for the Richards/Moyle stable and has trialled nicely. Phillip Stokes has two runners GALLIUM draws a good barrier for her debut and ZEBELLA ran well when 2nd behind Nishikado at Gawler on debut.

SELECTIONS: 1 EROS, 5 Kusu, 9 Rajnish, 3 Ice Symphony
PLAY: EROS gets one more chance.

RACE 5 - 2:07PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1250 METRES)

DANCE TO DUBAI has won four of 15 and was a Caulfield winner three starts back. He was runner-up behind Little Stevie at Caulfield last time, but he draws a perfect barrier and looks the one to beat. IMPERIAL HILTON is a winner his only start here and has been favourite at his past two. He was good at Swan Hill and then only fair behind Royal Dress at Donald. He’s an improver. Another Victorian RIVER TWAIN is also a winner here back in February and draws to run a big race first-up here with a Ben Price claim. SOLAR GALE ran his best race in SA when he led and was only grabbed late by Extreme Thrill at Gawler.

SELECTIONS: 7 DANCE TO DUBAI, 8 Imperial Hilton, 2 River Twain, 4 Solar Gale
PLAY: Keen on DANCE TO DUBAI.

RACE 6 - 2:47PM Darren Fey Birthday Memorial Handicap (1000 METRES)

QUIETLY DISCREET is a smartly bred mare who was a winner first-up on the Parks in February. She was spelled after disappointing behind Another Award on the Parks in March and is first-up for the Dan Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray stable here on the back of a nice trial. She draws a gate and looks the one to beat. I’M A LEGEND led and bolted in at Gawler last time, he draws the inside and should go well again. WINNING WEATHER finished 4th in the same race and gets some weight relief. DEEVINE bolted in first-up on a heavy track and finished hard behind Litchfield County last week. EXPRESS MASTER landed some good bets to win back in c lass at Murray Bridge. MR HAVE A CHAT has been racing well and should be on speed and giving a bold sight.

SELECTIONS: 3 QUIETLY DISCREET, 2 I’m A Legend, 1 Winning Weather, 5 Deevine
PLAY: Keen on QUIETLY DISCREET fresh.

RACE 7 - 3:27PM Spring Carnival at Morphettville (October 8th - November 5th) Handicap (1250 METRES)

FORBIDDEN CITY is a lightly-race filly who was a Sandown winner in February when $1.75 and then tackled the Angus Armanasco at Group 2 level and was well backed when down the track. She was on speed when run down by Asymmetrical at Sandown at her latest in March but draws the right gate to be on speed and is the horse to beat. EYES NEVER LIE maps well from the barrier and he comes off a good effort behind Legless Lady at Murray Bridge. BOLD HOI HO has solid Victorian form winning at Sale three starts back and was OK when 4th behind Danaustar at Sandown last time. JACKS ON ICE has won two of three starts and trialled nicely for his return to race. He has a sticky gate but should run well. CHICAGO STORM is a progressive type who has won two of his past three, the latest at Gawler beating Tupoleu. He draws out but must be respected. WIND DREAMER comes off a Donald maiden win, KOVA is progressing but up sharply in class.

SELECTIONS: 6 FORBIDDEN CITY, 4 Eyes Never Lie, 1 Bold Hoi Ho, 2 Jacks On Ice
PLAY: Very keen FORBIDDEN CITY.

RACE 8 - 4:02PM Pike & Joyce Handicap (1300 METRES)

Tricky race. CLASSY KENNY is racing well. He went to Swan Hill to win before coming off the speed to beat Kong at Morphettville two starts back and was close-up behind Oh Mo last week. KONG is bursting to break through, he was close-up in the Oh Mo race last week and deserves to win a race. SHORT STORIES made good ground at odds behind Litchfield County last week. TIME WARRIOR stuck on well behind Zoulah last week and draws a nice barrier. HASSLEFREE is in good form but draws wide.  AFRICAN AWESOME has a handy record and draws a good barrier for his return, stablemate SO YOU CAN has a good record here, but he needs to lift. MAID IN MILAN got up at odds here last week but is hard to catch.

SELECTIONS: 8 CLASSY KENNY, 10 Kong, 12 Short Stories, 5 Time Warrior
PLAY: Backing CLASSY KENNY each-way.

RACE 9 - 4:40PM Grand Syndicates - New Yearlings Available Now! Handicap (1400 METRES)

Another tricky race. CROWNED MONARCH has a handy record and usually improves second-up. His latest was only fair but he had form in better races last time in work and his best is up to winning a race like this. PIVOTAL FORCE was a good Strathalbyn winner two starts back and finished hard behind Hasslefree last time out. TUPOLEU draws a nice barrier and won at Gawler before a good effort behind Chicago Storm. MONRAAJ races well here and draws an inside barrier. VENUSIAN is racing well and won three on end before chasing home Bolt By last time. He draws out but should be thereabouts. Stablemate SUNNY GREEN made good ground from the back behind Made In Milan last week.

SELECTIONS: 6 CROWNED MONARCH, 9 Pivotal Force, 5 Tupoleu, 2 Monraaj
PLAY: Something each-way CROWNED MONARCH.
