RACE 1 - 11:34AM The Fotobase Group Handicap (1250 METRES)

MERRY MAC BOY was very well backed ($2.20 to $1.90) before winning by 3.5 lengths at Pakenham synthetic on debut. Clearly a horse with upside and can win here. ALPHA FLIGHT is the danger and drops sightly in weight and the extra trip suits his chances. He was good behind stablemate Nishikado two starts back before beating Bonnie Gangster easily here last time. PARTY PRINCESS made good ground on debut behind Intrepid Eagle at Murray Bridge and has appeal, stablemate SUPER SHARP as OK on debut before going to Gawler and winning his maiden in April. He resumes. MORE REWARD will appreciate getting out to the 1200m.

SELECTIONS: 2 MERRY MAC BOY, 1 Alpha Flight, 4 Party Princess, 3 Super Sharp
PLAY: Quinella the top two.

RACE 2 - 12:07PM UniQ Stone Handicap (1950 METRES)

GOLDEN CRUSADER was a Donald winner three starts back and stepped up in class to win at Sandown last time. He draws well, Todd Pannell rides and he’s the one to beat. RAPID RAISER is consistent and followed a narrow defeat at Mildura by winning at Murray Bridge. He gets in her well after the claim. ICHIBANSAN has been in good form and was back to winning form beating Miss Gobcain last time. The inside gate might not be ideal, but he is another who doesn’t run many bad races. AEECEE DOLCE was a Warrnambool winner on a heavy track three starts back and his past two placings at Sandown are good form for a race like this. PRINCE JOFRA has been good winning back in class and EXALTED RUTH makes her own luck

SELECTIONS: 2 GOLDEN CRUSADER, 4 Rapid Raiser, 1 Ichibansan, 5 Aeecee Dolce
PLAY: Keen on GOLDEN CRUSADER.

RACE 3 - 12:42PM Spring Carnival at Morphettville (October 8th - November 5th) Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

Staying out here but liked the run of RICHANA on debut. She got back and worked through the line well behind Born To Run and gets the blinkers going on here. RED HOT STAR is on debut for Will Clarken, his trials have been only fair, but he has a good barrier, and the blinkers go on. COURAGEOUS HEARTS has been around the mark in maiden class and must be given each-way claims here. DAUNTING DECISION has been to the trials a couple of times and must be respected.

SELECTIONS: 11 RICHANA, 4 Red Hot Star, 1 Courageous Hearts, 12 Daunting Decision
PLAY: Watching on.

RACE 4 - 1:17PM Happy 80th Nonno Pippo Handicap (1250 METRES)

COMMODITY has been solid since betting opened and the stable have a great strike-rate here. He led throughout to win a Geelong maiden last time and should take beating. BIG MAN AT NIGHT was a soft Balaklava maiden winner. He draws a middle gate and should run well. BUBBLE OVER defeated subsequent winner Born To Run two starts back before running 4th behind Saville last time.

SELECTIONS: 8 COMMODITY, 2 Big Man At Night, 5 Bubble Over, 7 Benevolent
PLAY: Backing COMMODITY.

RACE 5 - 1:52PM Vale Bushy Trenowden Handicap (1300 METRES)

Even field here. NANA DULCE comes off a smart win powering over the top of Friendly Ghost here in midweek grade. This doesn’t look a huge jump in grade, and she can win again. I have been with PRINCESS RAFFLES in recent starts, and she improved making good ground from a long way back behind. JIVE BABY beat Nana Dulce at Balaklava three start back and made good ground behind Cheloon at Murray Bridge last week. BONNIE GANGSTER is a maiden who ran well at odds behind Alpha Flight last time and is worth some thought. TONY MONTANA got through the heavy conditions to win his maiden at Bordertown last weekend. CHLOES DAY comes off a Murray Bridge win beating Dawnburst and must be respected.

SELECTIONS: 7 NANA DULCE, 10 Princess Raffles, 11 Jive Baby, 12 Bonnie Gangster
PLAY: Something each-way on JIVE BABY.

RACE 6 - 2:32PM Fresh Kitchen Solutions Handicap (1550 METRES)

Tricky race and I’m going with ANOTHER FREE GLASS who was impressive here coming off the speed to win smartly last time back in class. He draws out but can go on with here. SHORT STORIES gets in OK after the claim, is a dual winner here but jumps from 1200m out to the 1550m. HARBOURMASTER comes off a Ballarat maiden win on the synthetic and draws out but should run well. TURFITT has been racing well and wasn’t beaten far in 4th behind ZIGGI ROCKS who is racing well. EQUAL BALANCE was well backed to win at Balaklava last time.

SELECTIONS: 8 ANOTHER FREE GLASS, 1 Short Stories, 2 Harbourmaster, 11 Turfitt
PLAY: Happy to back ANOTHER FREE GLASS each-way.

RACE 7 - 3:12PM EMR Marble & Granite Handicap (1000 METRES)

WOTUWANT has been in great form and was very good running 4th behind Calypso Reign in the Spring Stakes last time. He draws towards the inside but gets some weight relief and should be in the finish. TITANS has won 3 of 7 and hasn’t raced since running down the track behind Young Liam after racing on speed. The blinkers go back on, and he is 2 from 3 first-up. SPANISH HEIROOM is on the quick turnaround here and has a great record on the Parks. She draws to lead and gets some weight relief. MORIALTA has won 4 of 11 and hasn’t raced since beating Wild Imagination on the outer track last October. YOUNG JIMMY has a good record and hasn’t raced since running 4th behind Sparkup at Morphettville. He has trialled well. KEEP READING has a good record and must be respected in a race like this. ZARACE has been in good form and chases three on end, he defeated KONG last time. RIGEL STAR has a handy record, and the Hayes stable goes for the blinkers here. STARFIELD IMPACT is a former WA galloper now with Tom Dabernig and is a winner fresh.

SELECTIONS: 6 WOTUWANT, 5 Titans, 1 Spanish Heirloom, 7 Young Jimmy
PLAY: Something each-way WOTUWANT in an open start to quaddies.

RACE 8 - 3:52PM Grand Syndicates - Join Team Grand Today! Handicap (1400 METRES)

Another even race. HEYWOOD has won 2 of 5 and got back before making ground behind Just Jake at Ballarat on the synthetic track last time. Blinkers go off and he draws a middle gate. THE STAGER ran 9th in the same race after getting a long way back. He was a Sandown winner three starts back when up on speed and must be respected despite the weight. RUN AND TELL was well backed to lead throughout and beat Dawnburst here in midweek company. He draws to lead form the inside and gets in very well after the Stacey Callow claim. MY KHALIFA was a Murray Bridge winner two starts back and was placed behind Impossible Action at Murray Bridge last week. CLASSY KENNY is going well and ran 3rd behind Maracourt at Murray Bridge last week. JACKS ON ICE looked to have his chance at Balaklava last time, DANCE OF THUNDER was an easing favourite behind Stylish Enuff at Donald last time. EYES NEVER LIE has been in the money at 3 of 4 starts here and draws out.

SELECTIONS: 2 HEYWOOD, 1 The Stager, 5 Run And Tell, 9 My Khalifa
PLAY: THE STAGER looks over the odds.

RACE 9 - 4:27PM Leon Macdonald Stakes (Formerly Penny Edition Stakes) (1400 METRES)

Good edition of the feature with DALASAN first-up here. He was beaten into 6th spot in the R A Lee when favourite before a break after a testing Sydney campaign. His fresh form is solid, his runs in top company have been excellent and he’s the one to beat. JUST FOLK is a nice horse who was a Group 2 winner in the Ajax in Sydney last campaign and strips fitter for one run back from a spell. AGREEABLE was very firm in betting at her debut for the Clarken camp when 8th behind Calypso Reign in the Spring Stakes. OH MO got well back and hit the line strongly late last time behind SO SAY ANGEL at Murray Bridge. They are both jumping sharply in class.

SELECTIONS: 2 DALASAN, 1 Just Folk, 10 Agreeable, 8 Oh Mo
PLAY: DALASAN should be too good for these.

RACE 10 - 5:05PM Vale Ken Smith AM Handicap (1250 METRES)

ENCHANTINGLY is a nice mare who was very good in her first preparation for Scott Westover. She loves some give in the ground, has trialled well and two starts back was beaten 1.7 lengths behind Bella Nipotina at Group 3 level. MONTIGN resumes here and is a horse with some serious upside. He resumed to win his fourth win on end at Murray Bridge in June and has been freshened. Stablemate RIALTOR draws out and can make the speed here he has won 5 of 16 and must be respected and he got through a heavy to win at Penola in April. They have both jumped out well. HIDDEN LEGEND trialled well before he was OK first-up and usually improves with a run under his belt. WINGS OF PASTRAMI is a nice horse on her day with a good record here and fresh. DEEVINE has been racing well and loves the wet conditions.

SELECTIONS: 13 ENCHANTINGLY, 1 Montign, 3 Hidden Legend, 4 Wings Of Pastrami
PLAY: Keen on ENCHANTINGLY and something on WINGS OF PASTRAMI at massive odds.
