VANITY STAR is a former McEvoy galloper now with Travis Doudle and he was runner-up behind Victory Bandit here last November. He was OK at Donald two starts back and should give a race like this a shake. SALUTE THE STARS has been placed his last couple he draws a nice barrier and must be respected. CAMDEN jumped odds-on behind Covered Call last time on the Parks and was placed his only run here in July. GEORGE HERCULES has been around the mark running 3rd to Torratorio at Balaklava last time. PLAYBOY CHARLIE was sent out favourite when 2nd behind Vino Decasa Nostra at Balaklava in May before going average his best couple, he’s had a month between run and the lugging bit goes on.

RACE 2 - 1:20PM Fred Vella Tyres & Crash Repair Maiden Plate (900 METRES)
I was keen on PIERRE DE LUNE here who went up $17 and was quick to firm before being scratched. With it coming out I found it a hard race to line up. COLOUR ME GONE is on debut for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable. She had two trials last year and was well beaten in both but jumped out OK at Morphettville recently. CLASSIC HOLLY hasn’t raced for almost a year and finished 4th behind Yeelanna at Balaklava before a break. She has been firm in the market GALACTIC ROCK wasn’t beaten far first-up in SA at odds and has been the one to firm. ASTROMANCER is on debut for the Kent/Francis and draws a middle gate. VIVA LA VIDA resumed and trialled OK. DECIBLLES is another resuming and was 2nd at Oakbank on debut.

RACE 3 - 1:55PM Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)
CHARTIN was placed behind Lights Of Broadway here two runs back before making ground behind Sea Of Secrets last time. He should be somewhere in the finish. HI CARL stuck on well behind Tony Montana at Bordertown on debut and that form has stacked up in town. IMPOSING SUSPECT was 4th behind D’Isles at Bordertown on debut but draws out. SPIRITED MARY had backing at odds in the same race but didn’t do a lot. AUGUSTA POWER has been placed at his past 3 at Port Augusta. GULINGI was well beaten at his local debut but runner-up at Pakenham at his previous outing.

RACE 4 - 2:30PM Vale Bob Johnson Benchmark 54 Handicap (1200 METRES)
Didn’t mind the recent trial of FIVE POCKET. He’s a first-up winner drawn an inside barrier and should give this a shake at nice each-way odds. Garret Lynch saddles up four runners here. OBELOS has been racing well placed at 4 of his past 5 starts and was runner up behind Hansom Man last time at Gawler. SMART CHARGE gets back and makes ground, he finished 3rd in the same race while NOT A SINGLE BID finished 4th and was a Gawler winner three starts back. His fourth runner VENDETTA was a Roxby Downs winner two starts back. SEE YOU LATER NOW has run well her past couple. POSSUM BORN draws a good barrier but is unplaced at all 4 starts here.

RACE 5 - 3:05PM Carlton Draught Benchmark 60 Handicap (2500 METRES)
AMERICAN TROUBLE defeated Fast And Flexible at Gawler two starts back and boxed on well there last week behind Native Blue. He draws a good gate and looks the one to beat. LUTZ has been around the mark in similar races and comes off a good run when 4th behind Lord Bouzeron here but the one concern would be he’s never placed in 7 starts here. SASUN gets his chance to win a race he was runner-up at Bordertown two starts back and OK behind Prince Jofra last time. SMILING ASSASSIN has to carry 62kg even after a 3kg claim. He showed a glimpse of a return to form running 4th behind Lord Bouzeron and does race well this track and trip. STREUSEL comes off a Donald win maiden win over 2210m and the extra trip suits. NEVER DOUBT US won at Bordertown smartly before struggling on the quick back up at Gawler last week.

RACE 6 - 3:40PM Congrats Garret Lynch Country Trainer of the Year Benchmark 54 Handicap (1600 METRES)
WHISKEY ‘N’ WOMEN was placed behind Venusian and Photogenic before an OK run up in class behind Rapid Raiser. He’s a dual winner here and drawn the inside. PITRAIN had market support and ran well when 2nd behind Equal Balance at Balaklava last time. PEACEMAKER was a Murray Bridge winner three starts back and ran OK behind Trumpsta last time. SAWTELL made good ground behind Keysor last time but draws wide. HALLAROSTE was a winner here three starts back on speed and can improve.

RACE 7 - 4:15PM Congrats Hazel Fertier Trackwork Rider of the Year Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400 METRES)
DAWNBURST has been placed at 2 of 4 starts here and was runner-up behind Run And Tell on the Parks last time. He draws out but should run well. IMPROVIDENT is a former Victorian who has won 2 of 7 and debuts for the Darryl Carrison stable. He was a Benalla winner two starts back and comes off a placing in a Cranbourne trial. He draws out and they’ve opted not claim leaving him to carry 63.5kg. CAMPOBASSO is an interesting runner now with the Jake Stephens stable. He hasn’t raced since fading at Mount Gambier in early July, but he has a very good record on heavy ground. He was last of five in a recent Strathalbyn jump-out without being asked to do a lot. TORRATORIO was a Balaklava winner two starts back and led them up when well beaten by Another Free Glass on the Parks last time. STAR LYRIC was a Strathalbyn winner back in December and resumed with an OK effort behind Cheeky Grace a Bordertown. The blinkers go off. FAST FOILS is a last-start Warrnambool winner but drops sharply in trip.

THE MAGISTRATE comes off a good run behind Taunting here when $41 into $26. He draws a nice middle gate, getting some weight relief and looks well placed here on his home deck. RUSTY HALO has won 3 races, all this track and trip and all on soft ground. He has trialled nicely before resuming behind Taunting here earlier in the month. The blinkers go off and he has solid claims the big concern would be 62kg. GRAND HOST was backed into favourite behind Old Time Rock and must be respected in a race like this. MADAM FURPHY draws wide but was a winner here two starts back beating Manage The Cycle and the had specking when 4th behind Night Of Delight here last start. MAID IN MILAN caused a boil over at Morphettville in July and was a Port Augusta winner two starts back before running 2nd at Quorn behind Sandsation when a $1.50 favourite. She’s never placed in six runs here on her home track.
