Morphettville Parks Track Report and Speed Maps

Racing SA's Track Report

Track walked Friday 18 November 2022 at 9am

Winning Post-1500m: The track should race evenly in this section. The grass seems lighter on the inside lanes and walks a Good 4 with some light scuff marks just passing the winning post up and around to the 1800m when it evens up across the track. With some rainfall predicted overnight, the track should stay in the Good 4 range for the entire circuit.

1500-800m (back straight): A beautiful presented section with plenty of lush grass consistency across the track. Some minor wear and tear close to the inside from previous racing but no clear perceived advantage or disadvantage across the track. Walks a nice comfortable good 4 with great grass cover.

1400m-800m (chute): Again a well-presented part of track with strong kikuyu growing strongly throughout. It is expected to race evenly around this section with a comfortable surface for galloping. Some very minor scuff marks hard up along the fence just entering the 800m but minor spots.

800m-400m: The rail is out 3m from the previous meeting. W have some consistent wear and tear from the previous meeting from lanes 1-3 with spots of fill spread across this section. Riders may look to peel out to slightly fresher ground to build momentum. The grass seems to thin out in this section and riders may start to come away from the fence throughout the day. Walks a good 4.

400m-Winning Post: The entry into the straight the scuff marks continue and we may see riders peel off the fence with significant sand fill still on the inside few lanes of the track. This may bring the backmarkers into play throughout the day or mid to late afternoon. The track walks a Good 4 right across. With slight winds some rainfall overnight, the track will race in that range over the day.

Verdict: The previous meeting on the Parks the rail was out 4m and with this meeting the rail comes out a further 3m. The track has some wear and tear in certain sections with some sand fill from the 600m to the winning post but walks evenly a Good 4. The track may play on pace early but with some scuff marks on the inside lanes we may see midfield/backmarkers come into play and riders looking to build around the 600m and run on centre/wide late.

Racing SA Stewards will provide an update to the track rating on Friday afternoon.
