Richard and Chantelle Jolly have the 2023 Adelaide Racing Carnival in their sights with exciting filly See You In Heaven after she beat the boys in Saturday’s Sandown Guineas at Caulfield.

Ridden aggressively out of the barrier by Craig Williams to race up on speed, See You In Heaven never looked like being beaten before claiming the Group 2 feature and erasing the memory of a luckless run at Flemington on Oaks Day.

“First time at the mile, that answered a few questions,’’ Richard Jolly said.

“She’s got a habit of not jumping well and Craig had it in his head about going forward, that’s why he’s a good jockey

“We might even look at an Oaks in the Autumn. There are plenty of options,’’ he said.

The Caulfield success was the start of a big weekend for South Australia’s leading trainers.

They had a win in Adelaide on Saturday with Wild Imagination proving too good at Morphettville before Sparkup found winning form in Sunday’s Vigneron’s Cup at Strathalbyn.

Top jockey Kayla Crowther recorded her 500th career win aboard the Sam Burford-trained Oh Mo at Morphettville, the win also a milestone for Burford as the first leg of his first city training double with The Magistrate scoring later in the day.

The Magistrate was ridden by Teagan Voorham whose huge November continued with a double when she claimed the Listed City of Marion Stakes aboard Diamonds who stormed over the top of rivals to score.

Emma Hubbard also had plenty of reason to smile after Fly The Line and Callan Murray provided her with her first metropolitan winner at Morphettville.

And talented Ellis Wong claimed the opening heat of the Montgomerie/Forrest Apprentice Series at Strathalbyn on Sunday aboard Alphaeus.
