Jollys send big hand to Murray Bridge

Richard and Chantelle Jolly take a strong team to Murray Bridge this weekend looking to bounce back to winning form after their impressive sequence of Saturday winners was halted at Gawler last weekend.

It was the first metropolitan meeting since August that South Australia’s leading stable hadn’t produced a winner, their run ending at 14 and Richard Jolly is confident things will be different this weekend.

They saddle up two runners in the opening race - Who’s Clang and Midnight Rush – and Jolly said both should be in the finish.

“He’s (Who’s Clang) had the three starts and the only time he got beat you could forgive him,’’ Jolly said.

“He’s quite a tough horse , he’s really handled the racing well and  he seems to be getting better,’’ he said.

The stable goes for the blinkers with Midnight Rush who didn’t have a lot of luck against the older horses at Morphettville last time out.

“You could forgive him against the older horses,’’ Jolly said.

“We’ve got the blinkers on, and he can certainly improve, he’s a capable horse,’’ he said.

The stable has Pudding chasing his third win from five starts this time in work, Saskatoon tackles the 1400m, while handy stayer Perfect Illusion resumes later in the day.
