Gawler Track Report and Speed Maps

Racing SA's Track Report

Winning Post to the 1500m: The rail comes out 2m to avoid some minor traffic from the previous meeting, however this section of the track walks much batter with some solid regrowth in key areas and has some good lush cover across the track and evenly walks as a Good 4.

1500m - 1000m: This section walks with a nice amount of grass cover and some strong growth as well, there some minor scuff marks entering the 100m hard up along the fence but very minor. Using the stick the ground has some nice grass coverage and walks consistent with a Good 4 rating.

1000m - 400m: From the 1000m to the 800m we have some slight uneven spots along the inside with some decent scuff marks along the inside lane this thins out as you approach the 600 meter mark where we see some good recovery along the fence. Slightly away from the fence with lanes 3 – 5 there is some fresh ground with a strong grass cover which some jockeys may start to use to blend into the race entering the home corridor.

400m - Winning Post: This section of the track walks in super order some strong grass coverage across the track it feels and walks a Good 4. Some very minor marks along the inside but very intermediate spots and no concern for riders, very neat and even which should lend itself to a level day for all

Overall: With the rail coming out from the previous 2 meetings again Gawler presents very even with good grass cover some irrigation will be added to keep the ground at the Good 4 range, some light winds when we walked the track at 9am Friday but with mild temps for Saturday we should see the track remain a Good 4 for the day and the smaller fields may lend itself to races being won by tempo or good rides.

Track Walked at 9am Friday.
