Dean Holland will be honoured throughout Australasian Oaks Day at Morphettville on Saturday.

Heartbroken colleagues will form a guard of honour and hold a minute's silence in the mounting yard ahead of the Group 1 Oaks, a race that saw Dean win his maiden Group 1, some 13 years ago.

Just seven days on from when Holland last raced at Morphettville, Race 4 on the program has been named Vale Dean Holland Handicap.

Racing SA continues to work through the best way to support Holland’s family following his tragic death with more details to be provided in the coming weeks.

Dean’s parents Darren and Belinda are also much loved members of the South Australian racing industry. In normal circumstances they would have been working at Sunday’s race meeting at Naracoorte, instead the club are now planning a tribute to Dean for Sunday.

Racing SA understands that this is an extremely difficult time for the racing fraternity, and members of the South Australian racing industry in need of support can utilise the free and confidential counselling service ACCESS on 1300 667 700  and quote Racing SA.
