Aitch Two Oh in perfect order for Alinghi Stakes

Richard Jolly is confident talented mare Aitch Two Oh heads to Melbourne in perfect order for Saturday’s $175,000 Listed Alinghi Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield.

Aitch Two Oh returned from a lengthy break with a solid first-up second placing behind Grey River in the Listed Wylie Handicap at Morphettville.

“She’s come up really well,’’ Jolly said.

“We were really happy with her run in the Wylie.

“She was a bit underdone, so she’s had five weeks since then, we’ve got a fair bit of work into her,’’ he said.

Jolly said the mare was heading back to Melbourne in similar order to when she won the Group 3 Red Roses on Oaks Day last November.

“I think her first run suggests that,’’ Jolly said.

“She didn’t come up in the Autumn.

“We gave her one run and we worked out she had a virus. We gave her a good long spell to let her get over it,’’ he said.

Jolly said drawing a nice barrier (two) around Caulfield was ideal with Craig Williams booked to ride.

“She’s got high speed and she’s drawn a good gate so she’s going to be right up in the running early,’’ Jolly said.

“Caulfield shouldn’t pose a problem for her,’’ he said.

Aitch Two Oh is marked a $12 chance with tab.com.au.
