RACE 1 - 12:27PM Melbourne Cup Day at Morphettville Maiden Plate (1250 METRES)

GIVE SOME LIP has been runner-up in two runs, the latest at Murray Bridge behind Wiggum. He draws a sticky barrier but looks well placed here. DODD is lightly raced and was beaten 23.9 lengths behind Wiggum last time out. He draws wide but should run well. BONA FIDE STAR was OK running 2nd behind Angelic Appeal here two starts back before being beaten 4 lengths behind Anotherhouse last time at Morphettville. Stablemate THE STALKER finished narrowly in front of him in the same race and must be respected. SUNDOGG was OK beaten 4.9 lengths behind Kinetic Jewel here last time. KARAKA KIWI has won a recent trial for his return and draws a nice barrier.

RACE 2 - 1:02PM AIG Security Handicap (1400 METRES)

FREE VINO has been runner-up his past couple at Strathalbyn and Balaklava and looks suited in a race like this. He’s been specked since markets opened. MY MALOO has found form winning his past two at Strathalbyn, the latest when on speed beating Salute The Stars. He draws out but must be respected. KATIM’S CLUB was a Balaklava winner four starts back and comes off a solid effort last time when she beat home all but Picky on the outer track. BASE OF FIRE was good running 3rd at Balaklava two runs back after leading and draws an inside gate.

RACE 3 - 1:37PM Twilight Races at Morphettville December 15th Handicap (1550 METRES)

PLATINUM WOLF is a nice horse who was well backed first-up from a spell and finished hard behind Portation at Murray Bridge. He is an acceptor in the Gawler Cup but has been a solid firmer since markets opened and can finds himself in better races. The danger is ALPINE FLYER who has been racing well. She was solid in open company when 4th behind Ironclad in the Balaklava Cup before a solid effort when 3.3 lengths in 2nd behind Thirsty Guess last time. She looks well placed here from a middle gate. HOPON HARRY has been racing in stronger company and was beaten 4.1 lengths in 11th behind Jack The Lad in the Murray Bridge Cup. He gets some weight relief from a good barrier. PRINCE JOFRA has been racing well placed in the Coleraine Cup two runs back before running 4th behind Captain Envious at Murtoa last time out. AITCH D’AMICO was a good winner first-up from a spell and has been solid in two subsequent runs. FLYWAY has been solid in his past couple at Moonee Valley and Ballarat while EAGLELOU has a good record around here and his fresh record is sound. He’s another Gawler Cup acceptor.

RACE 4 - 2:12PM The Fotobase Group Handicap (1950 METRES)

REGAL VALOUR draws out but was OK running 4th behind Angry Skies two runs back on the outer track before running 7th behind Imbibe here last time. This looks a winnable race. CROWN HARMONIUM has been around the mark placed on the outer track behind Jenkins two runs back. BERRY FOXIE made it consecutive wins when a soft 1.3 length winner at Mt Gambier and maps to get a nice run from a good barrier. MANZALA has been good running 2nd at his past couple.

RACE 5 - 2:47PM SkyCity Handicap (1250 METRES)

LANG PARK comes to SA winning his past couple at Benalla when a $2.10 fav and then Cranbourne when $2.15-$1.80 fav. Patrick Payne has a brilliant strike-rate here and he looks the horse to beat.
Former stablemate THE GUAVA is a winner at his only start here beating Sir Leapalot and led them up with plenty of weight when beaten 1.8 lengths behind Portation at Murray Bridge last time. SECOND TO NUN has plenty of talent and was a $2.50 fav first-up when beaten 2 lengths behind Aztec Dancer at Murray Bridge. She draws out but should run well if she opts to run here in preference to Gawler. ANJOPIN is a progressive horse who was a good winner over Tosen Water last time and maps to get a good run from the inside with the claim. EL CAPONY is another Victorian who has won two of his past three, the latest at Mornington when she came from well back. PRICILLA’S CHOICE draws a nice barrier and was a winner here two starts back beating Street Delight. ORNAMENTAL LADY stuck on well behind Street Delight last time when specked. RUN AND TELL led throughout to win at Balaklava last time and draws to get a good run here.

RACE 6 - 3:22PM Thomas Farms Handicap (1400 METRES)

KYOKUSHIN is lightly-raced and has been in some better races over the border. He was a $3.50 fav last time out when narrowly beaten by Soaring Eagle at Kyneton after leading and looks well placed here from a middle barrier. TAPINFORPAR is ready to win a race chasing home Thirsty Guest on the outer track last time. He draws a nice gate and should be somewhere in the finish. BOLD FEELING is another Victorian who was a good Pakenham winner on the synthetic on debut. The stable goes for the blinkers here from a sticky gate but he should take some beating. MISS KERMIE was good when 3rd behind Picky on the outer track last time and should run well. WHISKEY ‘N’ WOMEN landed some good bets ($41 into $21) to win at Murray Bridge last time and draws to get a good run from the inside gate. EAST INDIAMAN has a good record around the Parks but is another who is a Gawler Cup acceptor.

RACE 7 - 4:03PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (1950 METRES)

GRAND PIERRO brings some solid Victorian form here running 4th behind Rhinoceros at Mornington before he was beaten 3.4 lengths behind Maktoob at Caulfield last time. He has plenty of weight but that looks the right form for a race like this. WHEELS returned with a good effort running 3rd behind Thirsty Guest on the outer track. She was racing well last time in work winning at 2000m and 2500m before diving in the deep end in the Adelaide Cup. She draws a nice gate and looks a big danger. DISAGREEABLE MISS has been around the mark in similar races and chased home The Map last time. SILENT COMMAND wasn’t beaten far in the Balaklava Cup two runs back.

RACE 8 - 4:52PM Drink Wise Handicap (1000 METRES)

MAGIC MAX is a talented horse who hasn’t raced since winning on the outer track in April. He has a good fresh record, draws a middle gate and can give a race like this a big shake. DARING MOVE has won three of seven here and maps well from a middle gate. Stablemate ALPHA FLIGHT was placed here two runs back behind GRINZINGER PRINCE who has been in the money at both runs here on the Parks and was a good winner first-up from a spell. He draws out but should be right there again.
SPANISH HEIRLOOM stuck on OK first-up from a spell behind Taunting. She has been in the money at nine of 12 starts this track and trip and should make her presence felt despite a sticky gate. THE GOV was good beaten 1.6 lengths behind Queman last time and draws a nice gate. THE MAGISTRATE has a good fresh record and draws the inside.

RACE 9 - 5:32PM Grand Syndicates Handicap (1000 METRES)

LA DEFENCE resumes here and was good on debut when he made late ground running 2nd behind the talented Wakanjeja. He draws out, is also an acceptor at Gawler on Friday but has been $9 into $4.80 since markets opened. HALLSTATT was a winner here last September beating Anjopin and wasn’t beaten far at Flemington last preparation. He draws a middle gate and finds a nice race to kick off in.
LAKE AGAWAM was back to winning form here leading throughout to beat Cherokee Miss last time. He draws an awkward barrier but should be in the mix again. NOSTRYIA had been around the mark in similar races but finding it hard to win. He was well beaten last time out but his previous form was solid enough to be considered here. LEFT TURN CLYDE resumes and was a Murray Bridge winner before a break beating Tickety Boom.
