A look at the Group 3 Lord Reims nominations

GRAND Promenade headlines nominations for Saturday’s $150,000 Group 3 Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) at Morphettville.

Grand Promenade finished third in last year’s feature as a $3.50 favourite when in the care of Ciaron Maher and will be having his third run for new trainer Shane Jackson this year.

He’s one of 22 nominations for the traditional Adelaide Cup lead-up that includes impressive JRA Plate winner The Map and third placegetter Hasta La War.

An interesting nomination is the Matt Cumani-trained Monbaher who won the 2022 Banjo Patterson at Flemington.

The European import has been seen just twice since running fifth behind Dunkel at Moonee Valley in December before a solid running second behind Herman Hesse at Caulfield last time out.

Other interesting nominations include last-start Sandown winner Yellowbrick Road for Ballarat trainer Patrick Kearney while Peter Chow has nominated Rapinoe who comes off an impressive win at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Garret Lynch has Sandastan chasing his fourth win in succession while Peter Hardacre has Dual Fuel entered on the back-up from her third successive win at Morphettville on the Parks last weekend.
