Magic Millions Sales Shining Bright

Dancing Storm has proven an astute purchase and shining example of the South Australian breeding industry following his Magic Millions 2YO success at Murray Bridge last weekend.

The Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained youngster is by former Cornerstone Stud sire Sir Prancealot from Typhoon and was sold for just $35,000 at last year’s Adelaide Magic Millions Sale.

In just three starts the horse has banked $139,125 in prizemoney, $112,000 coming from his Murray Bridge success.

“I trained his mother and have seen a few of her progeny,’’ Richard Jolly said.

“I just liked the horse, he looks a Rory’s Jester type to me and a throw back to the grand dam.

“He’s a nice horse to deal with and it’s a good win for the owners,’’ he said.

Jolly said they specifically targeted the South Australian feature.

“We paid up for the Adelaide race, it was the target,’’ Jolly added.

“He trialled really well, I was confident, and he’s got the job done,’’ he said.

Jolly said there were ample options for the horse going forward.

“There are some nice races coming up through the carnival, he might get a little but further but there are four black-type races to chose from,’’ he said.

Chris Bieg was the other big winner producing the quinella in the Magic Millions 3 & 4YO Classic when Overstrike defied classy stablemate Dubenenko in a thrilling finish.

Overstrike was bred by Dr Geoff Tucker from Little Hills Pastoral Company in Yorketown and is also proving himself a bargain buy purchased for just $30,000 at the 2022 Adelaide Magic Millions Sales Yearling Sale.

He picked up $68,000 for his Murray Bridge win which followed a Bordertown maiden victory back in October and is just $1200 shy of $100,000 in prizemoney.

“I didn’t expect that to be perfectly honest,’’ Bieg said postrace.

Owners of the first Racing Rewards qualified horse passed the post in each race walked away with a $10,000 cheque on behalf of Magic Millions and Racing Rewards to be spent on a Racing Rewards qualified horse at the 2024 Adelaide Magic Millions Sale which kicks off at Morphettville on Monday.

The first of the 452 lots of the 2024 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale will go under the hammer from 10am on Monday at the Morphettville Sales Complex.
