Andrew Gluyas chasing some post carnival luck over the border with Lovely Lookin’ and Party Princess

Andrew Gluyas heads over the border to Caulfield on Saturday in search of a change of fortunes for pair Lovely Lookin’ and Party Princess who were luckless during the Adelaide Racing Carnival.

Lovely Lookin’ was beaten three lengths behind Skybird in the Group 2 Tobin Bronze as a $101 chance before she was only 1.6 lengths behind Boognish in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes last time out.

“She had nowhere to go last start,’’ Gluyas said.

“From barrier six (with Craig Newitt riding) she should get a nice enough run.”

“Her racing through the carnival was quite good, hopefully she can turn things around over there,’’ he said.

Party Princess returns to Melbourne but is faced with an awkward barrier, drawn out in barrier 18, for her 2000m assignment with apprentice Jaylah Kennedy riding.

Like Lovely Lookin’, Party Princess raced well through the Adelaide Racing Carnival.

She was runner-up behind subsequent Group 1 Sangster Stakes winning Climbing Star in the Listed Matrice Stakes back in March with her past three runs coming in black-type races, the latest beaten 3.4 lengths behind See What I See in the Listed Centaurea Stakes at Morphettville on Goodwood Day.

“We’re excited to get her back to a ratings race after being competitive in black type races through the carnival,’’ Gluyas said.

“She gets in quite well at the weights.

“She’s definitely a Listed level horse, but it hasn’t really worked out for her at her last couple of runs and hopefully that can change on the weekend,’’ he said.
